  8. I have just done a solo mtb ride around Waterkloof air force, Irene farm and through to old Jhb road back down to my house. Riding along on the dirt next to the roads, I prefer to keep of the right of the roads facing oncoming traffic. This way I don't have to look over my shoulder all the time to keep an eye on the cars coming from behind me. On my ride I went passed a couple of riders going in the opposite direction, most of which keep to the left of the roads. Which side is the norm to ride on and does it not make more sense keeping to the right in order to see oncoming traffic better?
