  1. Question from my side - Is the current 305's still having the problem? Still interrested to get one if the problem is sorted out. Is the complaints mainly for the older ones?
  2. For 8-9k go second hand. You could even be lucky to find a carbon frame with Tiagra or 105 at that price. Go for the best frame you can get and upgrade later on if you like it ... believe me you will!!
  3. Went passed just after it happened. It was actually one rider on a Bianchi. Light was green for rider and driver coming from opposite directions, and driver turned right in front of him with his BMW. Rider quite badly injured (looks like back and hip and a LOT of roasties!) and Bianchi completely written off. The BMW has a lot of damage as the cyclist hit the fender, bonnet, broken windshield and roof crompled up to the sunroof ..... Police and ambulance responded very quickly. BMW driver stood around very relaxed whilst the paramedics was working on the cyclist lying in the street bleeding ......
  4. ... this is really amusing! I do not know what is worse in S.A. ... everything taking a bit longer, or the constant moaning and groaning? Come on guys!! ... the rules is clear, and if you race regularly you should not have any seeding issues. With the initial month or two waiting for the results to show - if you haven't raced for more than a year another month should not be an issue. There is also nothing more satisfying seeing how your seeding improve over a period of a year or two ... ... just my opinion ... but please carry on ....
  5. Felt F4 full carbon with Ultegra SL now on sale for R22,4k. Bought one two weeks ago from Alexander @ Bester Cycles in Pta. Did the Carousel with it and it is simply amazing!!
  6. KY ......
  7. Buy from Cycle Lab or FPC ...... the price should be the same .......
  8. They recently helped me to loosen a pedal from a crank which I was told by another shop will be a new crank. Saved me a bundle and charged very little after stripping down the complete pedal and then again rebuilding it. Buy all my parts from them as the prices are good. Have however not serviced my bike there, but would not feel to hessitant.
  9. Now I am just wondering if my wife will even notice new cranks .... opens up a world of opportunity. lol!
  10. Also wondered after a while but i made 100% certain. The pedal is so stuck that the 6mm allen key bent before stripping the pedal, yet it did not even move. I even tried cooling the pedal bolt down with some CO2 in an attempt to 'shrink' it but to no avail. Have anyone experienced this before and could you find a solution? I do not really feel like spending money on something so unnecessary as replacing the crank because the pedal is stuck ......
  11. Last night I wanted to replace my set of wellgo pedals on my road bike with a set of Shimano, only to realise that the right pedal seems to got what feels like welded onto the crank. I tried everything to get it loose, but ended up damaging both the outside 'spanner' area as well as the inside 'allen key' area. Does anybody perhaps have any advice on how to remove the pedal or is a new crank the only solution?
  12. Winning Time did it again. After wrongly issuing me with a second chip for the 94.7, the person at their stand asured me that my first chip would work ..... and guess what ..... 'no results available for this rider'. I did send them an email but that seems to be ignored currently. I may not be an elite rider of any sorts but I worked hard for my result and I expect it to be registered for future seedings at least. Did anybody elses time also get messed up? Does anybody perhaps who I can contact at Winning Time to sort this out for me?
  13. I am currently looking at replacing my current budget Wheeler Route 41 with something a bit more advanced. The 2009 Silverback carbon bikes looks for me to be really good value. Does anyone have a bit more of an experienced view on the Silverback carbon frames? The Monterey start of at about R14k for Tiagra and then move to R17k for 105 and R21k for Ultegra. Any recommendations on the quality and performance of these?
