The point is, all the guyz from cycle lab are a bunch of wankers, any1 whos been cycling for 2 weeks knows this... Dont sweat it, laat hulle voort f*k
My 10c worth :
At all depends on what you have :
Fever, body aches, pulse is up : DONT RIDE
I rode the best sani of my life this year, was out for 6 weeks because of illness, and i still had alot in my chest during the sani...
So that below the neck rule thing wasnt very applicable to me, i wish a professional could write a decent article about this
I've ridden around the world 3 times and up Everest 27 times since Jan. You my friend are in big trouble. You may as well throw yourself into a tank of electric Zambezi sharks.
Aaa only saw this now after the sani, just thought id say, next time please stfu, u idiot, lol!
@Acerunner : I've got exactly the same symptoms, it's just frustrating.
Good luck man, hope yours clears up. I'm going to try physio to try bang the phlem out my chest. :-)
Wesley, how was your sani???
Day 2 is tough in anyone's book. Manage yourself and take it easy. Eat and drink lots. It's easy to worry about other things and forget to eat and drink. Stop when you have to and take a break. Like I said, last yeat was a nightmare for me, but I was never close to a cutt off.
cool! will do! thnx
I have a 2 year old who brings many a different bug from creche. He had the RS virus less than a month before sani last year. It's a contagious respiratory viruses.
I was sick the entire April and although I did decent mileage during the first part of the year I did very little just before sani.
I felt ok enough to ride when May arrived. Did a long ride 2 weekends before sani and managed.
Day 1 came and from the gun my legs felt heavy. Riding in a group, as soon as the trail tilted upwards I slipped out the back. I finished relatively comfortably but knew that things weren't all good.
Day 2 was a nightmare. I felt a tightness in my lungs throughout the day and found myself flat on my back cramping like a beyotch for the better part of the last half of the race. Don't know how I finished.
Nursed it home on Day 3. Highlight was my partner breaking a chain, giving me some time to spend on my back in the bush.
In 2013 I was 5kgs lighter than 2012, where I finished comfortably, but the bug just broke me down badly. This year I'm popping multi-vits like a junkie! Still good... touch wood.
Cool man thnx for sharing!
Im in the same boat, im 90% healed, but i still have a little something on my chest, just gonna take it easy enjoy the ride and check the heart rate!
Cheers
You'll be fine, just take it easy. Forget about riding now as you won't get any fitter in a week. Just focus on getting and staying healthy. I rode last year with a bug and had a torrid time. Do your best to be 100% healthy and you'll be fine. You do have the base.
Hey man,
Thanks for the reply! Tell me more about your bug situation last year?
Regards,
Ace
Sorry did not read all the advise but if you walk at a fast pace you can finish within the cut-off . Sani2C is a easy although VERY enjoyable stage race . Never use to train for it , if you get tired , stop have a fag (or energy drink) and continue when you feel strong again .
lol!!! tnx man
Just wanna say I feel ya pain and frustration
I’ve been battling with this **** for 6 weeks, been on 2 courses of antibiotics..
Symptoms :
Moderate White slime coming from my chest, not green or yellow.
Slight Feeling of pressure on the chest
Open Nose and airway, no coughing
No fever What so ever
Do feel flat sometimes, and if I train my heart rate is up the next day, sigh
WTF???
Gonna stay in bed till Tuesday and hope for the best, I really wish everyone the best of luck thats struggling with illness before the sani
peace,
Ace
Thnx man! That makes me feel alot better!
Evening gents,
Ive been sick this month and could only do 5 rides that amounts to 129km
I did do 1490km with an elevation gain of 18500 from 1 jan to now so i think i have an ok base
Did the sani2c 2013, think im going to suffer bigtime this year, really stressed!!
Lemmy know what u think

Ok ok ok, to all fellow hubbers and cyclists, read carefully.
I'm gonna break it up into very simple but powerful terms.
In my opinion:
Lance inspired me to cycle, that’s something that will never change!
Watching the Tour is crap now... Now we gotta watch people like evans and wiggans, sigh, I donno what it is bout them that annoys me so much… They win **** but they are not Champions, they have no chance becoming the goat, or taking the sport to another level and the worst of all, - absolutely no chance of inspiring you. But Lance on the other hand…
Be very careful pulling the moral high card on Lance because everyone lies at some point.
So next time you wanna say something bout Lance round the dinner table, first reflect on your own life.
Now for what lance did :
The way which he destroyed the people who accused him was unacceptable and cruel, it kinda makes me think that he’s a sociopathic mal bliksem! I lost all my respect for him because of that.
So please stop complaining that he is a liar and a cheat because the chances that u have done one of those, or associate with some one that has, are almost 100%
Now u know what lance did and now u know why u should be angry with him..
Live strong is a cool organisation that has nothing to do with what lance did, that’s why they cut him loose.
Cheers
@ Ultimate dude, live strong has nothing to do with lance anymore.
Livestrong , Lance Armstrong, Cheatlong.
by no way directed towards CRC.
O LOL!! got it, dude they have awesome stuff there, and you donate to charity + you get the coolest arm warmers in the world.
Geez!!! 42% *^!
Please explain the cheatlong thing. I wanna buy there because they have the coolest collection of cycling apparel online, DAMM THEY HAVE COOL S.H.I.T on that site!!
Hi Gents,
Just wanna know if you pay import tax when ordering clothes from Chain Reaction Cycles.
I ordered some stuff from livestrong.com and had to pay a crapload when collecting at the post office.
Thanks in advance.

I just opened this thread - I thought it was someone moaning about Cycle Lab again......
F*cking hate cycle lab
Did a 4:23, not sure if that's a good time for the karoo, cramped up the last 15... loved the race, would be cool if we can get some really nice apparel next year
