  1. Everyone speaks well of the Niner bikes, but the problem is that I cant test ride a similar bike to see if I like it or not. Does anyone have any comments regarding Niner?
  2. The barcode idea gets my vote. Its not something like a board that I have to attach to my bike thats an inconvenience for the rider.
  3. I don't know? Maybe R500.00 for a yearly pass. Personally I think it is a fair price.
  4. I think the yearly or monthly pass would help both the owners and the rider in this instance. The owners will be paid for the use of the track and the riders of the area will have the freedom to come and go, or pass through as they please. Its a win win situation for both.
  5. Im glad to hear that you guys like Spez camber so much. It seems to be the bike to have. What are the other bikes you guys considered before purchasing the camber? Were they also bikes that are slightly more trail orientated?
  6. Cool, I know exactly what you mean about the Spez.
  7. Have anyone seen a dealer with a full range of Niner bikes in Johannesburg?
  8. Hi All Im currently in the market for a dual suspension 29er with a carbon frame. I currently own a 2012 Scott Spark Team dual susser. I find the Scott to be a good bike with no issues at all, untill I rode the 2014 Spez Camber Comp last year as a test bike. I had ten times more fun on the Spez and on the same trials I normally ride on with the Scott. I normally ride in the Ruimsig and Fourways areas with only a few races such as the Magalies monster and Silverstar MTB challenge, per year. Is the Camber the best bike for R 40 000.00 or can you guys suggest a different ride? I had the below bikes on my short list. 1. Giant Anthem X 29er 2. Own built. Niner RIP 9 aluminium frame with a lefty shock, Fox Float CTD shock and existing American Classic wheel set with a lefty conversion. R48 500....too expensive. 3. Santa Cruz tallboy. Very cool but not in by budget. 4. Scott Genius 910. More trail orientated but should a hell of allot of fun to tide. More so than the spark? Any suggestion or comment with reasons why, would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks
  9. Contact Lee Wee cycles on 011 958 0133 They import the full range of Niner bikes
  10. I've been a diabetic for 29 years and all going well. I started mountain biking in February this year and my control of my blood sugars have always been good. Lately I’m having issues with my blood sugar dropping very low about 20 minutes into a race. It’s as if my body gets a shock from the excercise and just drops significantly. I test before the race and aim to have my blood sugar level at around 10 to allow for the potential drop in blood sugar due to the exercise. I’m eating oats and muesli an hour before each ride with half a oats bar every hour on the hour during the race, but lately 20min after the ride starts it hits 1.2 and I just can’t get my blood sugar level back by taking these energy gel packets. I drink 32GI and it really helps, but what do you guys eat before a race and during the race to help you maintain your blood sugar levels above 6 and what are you blood sugar reading an hour after a race?
  11. I'm in as we'll!! Not to race, just for the ride...:-)
  12. Nothing wrong with the Scott or the shock. The DT Swiss shock that they had on the 2012 bikes had a few issues but also not all of them. The new Fox shocks a brilliant. If you like it and the bike agrees with you, buy it. Its a good bike!! Try Linden Cycles or that horrible place called Cayees. They always have stock or if not, they can find it in one of their stores. Good Luck and enjoy it!!
  13. I cant wait for this ride to start. I hope it is well orginized.
