  1. Does anyone know where we can get a GPS route for the TB? The link on the TB website does not work.
  2. The china light I got has three settings, but the one is the rapid disco light thingy to use for who knows what. Sold as a 1800 lumens, but I cannot compare it with any other light I have, but with the brightest setting I can probably light up the Baviaans. Have not tested the total battery life, but recon it should reach 8hours (hope), most lights do. Will let it shine over the weekend to check it out, since I am not planning a 8 hour night race any time soon. At 23usd, worth the risk.
  3. I bought this light from Aliexpress for $23 (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/T6-Bicycle-Light-HeadLight-1800-Lumens-3-Mode-Waterproof-Bike-Front-Light-LED-HeadLamp-With-8/654272020.html). Works perfect. Paid for the light on Alibaba and then R35 odd at the post office on receipt of the light for VAT and Clearance. Bargain. Have not fully tested the battery life yet. Tested it for 6 hours once on the "less" bright setting, this setting I found more than enough for riding in any case. It looks like the same light is selling for R1150 on CWC.
  4. Sub10, that is an epic ride. We are not there, probably 13 is what we are aiming for. Mid pack and it will be a successful 1st go. So I will fall in that slower category.....
  5. I just checked some guy's Strava upload of the Baviaans last year, his gps measures temp as well. It never went above 20 and dropped to 3 at night. That is hellava cold in the mountains. Those temp's we will easily get in Bloem so I recon I should be kitted for that, I am more concerned about the rain. We don't get rain here in winter. Cold is one thing, wet and cold is another.
  6. My first time doing baviaans, excited and worried at the same time. Who are the Bloem riders going? We are 5 guys training together, but would be nice getting together with a different group for weekend rides Also, what type of clothing should we be taking along? Arm warmers, leg warmers, base layer, soft shell and rain jackets is what I picked up. Anything else? And finaly, is it necessary for to take along extra cycling jerseys and shorts?
  7. You just kept me busy for a hour looking at all these different pictures after I Googled the chaps name. Very weird.
  8. Try GPS logger on BB. I used it to log rides and you can follow previously recorded rides, but maybe you can try importing routes.
  9. Agree, I noticed the "Shorter Oxford" Dictionary, never knew it existed, must be a great read.
  10. I was in a flat panic the whole video!!
