  1. The one in Cycling news was the 2009? I also can't find anything on the 2010 one if there is one???
  2. Take it you mean the outer cables. Try Deon, Makro etc They have cheapo ones, I think I got white there. But if you want them for STi's they will be too short. Or maybe not if you get two rear ones.
  3. Not enough Bling, No Campag bottle.
  4. Delta brakes ?? too heavy and never took off. I like the Ciocc, white wall tyres, I bet the taxi drivers go for that in a big way.
  5. It won't go without the pedals. Ps I have shoes with the plates, Deto Peatro ( don't know how to spell it ) Hardly used in 40 years!!! Also Sidi with wooden soles. Is there a market for well used shoes??? Dollar see my PM these thing are in great demand on e-bay.
  6. Holdsworth 1960's 531 Frame 23inch centre to top 72 deg Campag record chainset 52/44 ( no 42 in those days ) I have other rings 151CBD ( 47 and some adapted ones ) Campag Nuovo Record gears, six block. Campag record pedals Wheels Campag large flange 32/40 tubulars Unica ( Cineli ) leather covered saddle Don't ask how many km's lots!!
  7. If the axle is hollow as ISIS, I put an old wheel spindle in cut to length, Leave the opposite bolt in and push against it with a Campag crank extractor. If you don't have a spindle a length of steel ( door handle spindle ) may fit.
  8. It will help with your peddling action, and stop you trying to use strength on the flat, however going up hill you will need to use strength. Chris Boardman did 45min for 25 miles ( 40km ) on fixed, I think 92in, don't ask it's about 55ring 16 sprocket ). But on the flat. I've riden 100mile time trials on fixed, without much change in times. So if you are young and want to improve your peddling action try fixed, donsn't cost much you can use a road frame, Give it a go.
  9. I maybe old or something, but are tubulars the same as tubeless ? Or are they the Tuffie type which clip on to the clicher rims, or somethig else ? Your never too old to learn, please tell me. Comment. Tubulars, problems are glueing them on, having to carry a spare 2 punctures !! Ride is, I would say a little more responsive than wired on. Also unstitching them to repair them. Tuffie, Tried them, Problem they seal if punctured, you think but never know, so if they do puncture there's no chance of fixing them as it will be a large hole. So do you carry a spare, or tyre and inner tube?? Comments Please
  10. HI I agree lose weight on the body. There are plenty of bits you can reduce, Have the following removed tonsils, toe nails, one kidney, (Like lance A )one of the his bits, all your hair etc. You can go to extremes such as the odd finger and toe if you are ealy a wieght fanatic. I train on a bike 1.4kg more than the one I ride for fun rides and can feel the difference. But I agree why take grams off then add two water bottles for a ride of 70 to 80km's? As for eqipment I read of BB's that last for 6months!! I have Campag ones that have lasted 30years, so how do you equate that to research and mondern materials being better. Also wheels with Campag hubs which must have done close to 120000km.
  11. Get washers from a hardware shop, to replace the rings you have removed. The middle ring may go on the outside, but then you may need a shorter axcel to line up with the rear sprocket.
  12. It all goes back to the Ordinary bicycle ( Penny Farthing ). That would be the Diameter of the wheel ( front ) so a gear of 53 chainring with a 12 sprocket on a mondern bike with 27 inch wheels would be 119.25. If that is x pie you travel 374.86 inches per revolution of the crank. So if we did not have the gears of today we would be riding Ordinaries with a wheel dia of 119.25 inches 9 foot 11inches. Now that would make your eyes water, unless you are 20 foot tall. ( 9foot 11inches is about 3metres, before someone asks ) IN Europe they never got round to understanding inches and feet ( far better using a base of 12 ) Hence they say 53 x 12 and have no idea what it all means!!!
