  1. Seeing that you like stats lets work with stats that we have. Everybody is going on about the fact that the positive results in South Africa is the hippos ears and there are way more positives. This unfortunately is applicable all over the world. What we can look at is the amount of people being tested vs positive results. Lets compare Spain to SA. Using the available stats 1 in 5.8 people in Spain tested have contracted Covid-19 compared to SA where only 1 in 37 have tested positive. This is completely different. Lets look at another stat, and that is critical patients in Hospital. If we were missing most of the positive cases through a lack of testing, surely we would be seeing way more patients in ICU. According to worldometers.info website that tracks stats, there are 7764 critical patents in Spain vs 36 in South Africa. These are the facts as I see them.
  2. Will be travelling down Beyers from Jhb side and then left into R374 to Bidon. Think I might have a problem
  3. Do you guys think a mtb ride on the MTB cradle loop will be possible parking at Bidon on Saturday morning or will it just end in frustration?
  4. Hi, that is a stunning looking bike. What is the final weight of that build?
  5. From Facebook the organisers have confirmed that the 72km guys will do the 54km first and then the 22km. But with 22km starting around 09:00 the 72 km guys will be riding the 22km with backmarkers. I think the 22km is more straightforward with no singletrack so passing should be easy.
  6. The 70km was great. Feel sorry for the guys that burnt their matches on the first flat 30km. Was a race of 2 halves with all the single track and climbing in the second half. Will be back next year
  7. Would also like to know. I have mailed them a request regarding the dates.
  8. So does this mean that there is 0% duty and only Vat, seeing that Canyon is based in the EU?
  9. Results are on sstiming
  10. Must say, I really enjoyed todays race. Did the 60km route and it had a bit of everything. The race was well organised cosidering there were 4 different races with hardly any overlapping. The route was well designed and clearly marked. Will be back next year.
  11. Does anyone know what has happened to the SASeeding website? Seems it has disappeared. Has it been replaced with a new system?
  12. Is there a list of the hubbers doing the race. Would like to follow an support them on the site
  13. I agree regarding the that part in the Parkview golf course. It was much more slippery than last year. They could have scubbed more of the slime off.
  14. Yes all the scaffolding bridges are just for the event. They do build some permanent bridges that are left as part of uplifting the spruit but I don't know of any new permanent bridges this year. I think this year was much easier for them because everything was in the same place, so they could just replicate it, still a massive undertaking though. Was it just me or was there alot more water in the stormwater system than last year. Cant remember being so wet and cold last year! Still great fun!!
  15. RIP Barry. Condolences to your loved ones. You kept this place interesting for many years!!
