Quickest way to become proficient and even very good with your camera is to join a photography club. They have club nights about once a month, where a panel of judges judge your photos for a score (out of 15) for good photos you are awarded stars, after about say 10 golds you advance to the next star. The top being 5 stars. It is great fun, and you learn a hell of a lot about photography.

Just taking the piss. Its a difficult one. They catch it, and relocate it, only to be killed my the dominant male to whose area they have transposed it. Perhaps it would be better to leave it and let it find its own way.

Perhaps. I do however think that how you look on the outside is a big reflection of who you are on the inside.
