  2. Been clocking mileage inmpreperation for the Drak Descent in early January. I run Ardents on the front (that are still looking good) and Crossmarks at the back, that are so worn that the little crosses are flat (can't post pics for some reason it's not giving me the option). Would LOVE some new Crossmarks for the Descent, that's one of the races where inferior kit will find you out @bikehubber) #scottsportsafrica #maxxistyresSA #bikehubber.
  3. "A record field"!!!!! Not so accurate. They combined the batches in both distances in the MTB races. The weather put paid to any sort of " record". This is a qualified assumption as this is the 3rd year I've done it.
  4. Chloe Bateson aka Peanut. Watch this young lady (12 years old). Name for the future! Well done Peanut!
  5. For those that aren't aware, young Chloe Bateson, who came second overall in the 28km, is only 12 years old!!!! Watch this youngster!!! Well done Peanut!!
  6. Go Ty, you GOOD thing!!!!! Love his attitude to riding, racing and life. Top bloke!
  7. Awesome of Albe & USN to 'step up' for these lads. Well done USN!!!!!!
  8. New team=new bikes.......... Good luck you two! Awesome athletes.
  9. Who says hard work doesn't pay off! Well done guys!
  10. Yeah, from Hilton all the way to Hillcrest.......
  11. Yeah, I did seriously appreciate the support. Should have said so, coffee's only kicking in now. Thanks guys, for seeing my intentions for what they were/are.
  12. Jeepers guys, I know us cyclists love our coffee, but seriously.... I apologise if anyone is offended. My take when there's a new post on this thread...have a look, establish (quickly) is it my area? Is it a mate's bike (I'm pretty sure if mine was stolen, I'd know)? Can I assist, if it's 3 'nos' then I move on to another thread........
  13. First time I've ever taken 'nosy tosser' as a compliment
  14. I'm sure if some "nosey tosser" approached you in the right manner, it would sit a little better. All I'm trying to do is get it out there, just in case. Also, if your bike is ever stolen, heaven forbid, maybe some 'nosey tosser", with good intentions, could reunite you with it........#justsaying
  15. Hi guys, spotted this bike at Ballito Junction last night. Guy claims he bought it. Seemed like a decent enough chap, so could be true. Was a bit suspicious as he was in overalls, and his 'briefcase' was a plastic bag. Said he had a cool bike & asked if I could take a photo. All I could really see in the dark was that it was a Diamondback.........
  16. Bud, make a stink about it!! We had an issue here on the North Coast with one of our club members. Her hubby & her were on the receiving end of seriously rubbish service. Name & shame......................how are they going to sue for voicing your displeasure on social media..................#bullies
  17. Hey Blue One. I rode alone yesterday, my fellow club mates fined me R250..................so, I've gotta agree bud. (try) NEVER RIDE ALONE.......or *** 'n betaal.....
  18. I picked up a 200 from a Hubber, works perfectly for my requirements. I use a HRM linked to my watch so I have most of the bases covered........

    karoo to coast

The organisers sent an email the other day advising of substitutions available. Maybe check the website.
  20. I've just upgraded my bars on my Momsen to their carbon bars. They can be set very aggressively or less so, depending on preference. I've found them to be very versatile. These bars are considered flat. The set up will also depend on your strength and health. I am 44yrs, 6'2, ride a 'L' 29er, and weigh 90kgs. The only reason I offer that up is because many bike mechs will need that info for your set-up. However, there is 44 & 44, so it is a very personal preference. Like most things, it's trial and error, and in the case of bar settings, sometimes a pretty sore back.......................good luck guys!!!!
  21. Cheers Bud. I smaak it stukkend!!!
