  1. Nice to see the human behind the ride. Her optimism is awesome! http://mpora.com/videos/AAdxgo1fhocg
  2. I much prefer shopping online and locally if possible. A wider range of products FTW.
  3. Wondering if anyone has used the Triple 8 Exoskin knee or elbow pads? http://www.triple8.com/photos/022_bmx_knee_133_retouched_medium.jpg http://www.triple8.com/shop/product/Triple-Eight-EXOSKIN-Knee-Pad How comfortable are they? Hot in summer? I realise they are lighter protection than full downhill pads but I'm looking for something that I can pedal in. Want something for trail riding not big jumps. Thanks a lot
  4. Not sure having a bottle in the back of your shirt is more comfortable than having a backpack on. Luckily we're all different. Agree on the Dakine or Camelbak options. I prefer to have space to carry more than just water and I like to have my bike as free of attached stuff as possible.
  5. Contermans has the best honesty box system I've come across. There are clear signs indicating where the honesty box is located. You fill in the form (which includes signing the indemnity) take the top copy for yourself and a duplicate is left behind in the book. Then pop your moola in the box. I've also had issues when riding early at Meerendal. Would be great to pay a higher annual fee and include more trails in the membership. Perhaps have the option to choose 5 Trails for your annual fee. But that's totally me dreaming up an idea without considering the realities of the logistics involved behind the scenes. Would require a lot of buy in by land owners and a fair system to distribute the funds.
  6. I also got 500 internal error yesterday. Site looking great though! Well done to all involved.
  7. Found them at City Rock in Cape Town. R820 - they were clearing stock - so only 2 pairs of this style were left. (one I have now and the other was a size 6) They did have some Minnaars but they're SPD and in big sizes. There were some other styles/types (not technically biking shoes but still have the stealth rubber sole) but can't remember what they were - sorry. Maybe give them a call - they're very helpful.
  8. Just got my first pair of five tens. I must admit I was sceptical before I tried them. I luckily found a pair on sale so was easier to justify the purchase. They are seriously as good as everyone says!!! Make a big difference. Sticky and comfy. And mine aren't even the hardcore biking shoes. Here are the ones I got:
  9. Thanks. Wish I could service myself but unfortunately don't have the space.
  10. I've searched for this topic and nothing comes up recently so apologies if it has been discussed and I haven't managed to find the thread. I'm looking for the best place to service/repair a MTB in Cape Town please - preferably city centre area but will also look at other Cape suburbs if needed. Any advice based on recent experiences would be great. Thanks a lot.
  11. Found a sunglasses case/bag at Tokai this morning. If it's yours please PM me.
  12. Thanks. Will do. I'll give them a call before I head out there just to be on the safe side. Thanks for the info.
  13. Thanks a lot. Appreciate all the info. Will definitely give them a shout. I'm sure one of them will have something. Looking forward to the trails - haven't ridden there before.
  14. Hoping someone has some info please. I'm heading to the KZN midlands in a few weeks and was wondering where I can rent a bike from. Would like to ride Karkloof specifically, but I'm in the Martizburg area also. Googled and can't find anything except MTB tours. I just want to rent a bike though and not do a tour. Thanks
