Awesome...Hope to see many of the Gauteng hubbers here! And our route is definitely a great challenge this year with the new 70km distance added. Our road race is on the Sunday, so if you don't do both disciplines, please tell your Roadie Friends...this year the challenge is BIG, with the road race finishing with the Magoebaskloof Pass! If you need accommodation, Magoebaskloof Hotel is our main sponsor for our road race and I'm waiting to hear about their cyclists tariffs.

I need your opinion... We are hosting our Magoebaskloof Road & MTB challenge in May as I mentioned previously... We have to decide quickly about moving our venue for the ROAD RACE from Merensky High School on the Sunday morning of 4 May to Magoebaskloof Hotel...which will be the start / finish area... That means the we'll only have a 70km route which ends with the Magoebaskloof pass which I think is great and the other option a 25km route from the hotel to Haenertsburg and back... The mtb race will still be from Merensky High school on 3 May and the distances, 70 km, 35 km, 14 km funrace. What do you think about that?

Our event takes place on 3 & 4 May. 3 May - Magoebaskloof MTB challenge 4 May - Magoebaskloof Road Challenge Both races are Limpopo colours qualifiers if your are residing in Limpopo... Our mtb marathon and half marathon is going to be a kickass event this year! Road race back to traditional Magoeskloof route due to roadwork being completed. Book these dates!! For those asking about a ride on Sunday...

Come and ride cheerio gardens trials in magoebaskloof on the way to tzaneen...about 60km from polokwane...

We lost a close friend a month ago when she was hit by a car in a yellow lane. The driver, an african lady, with 4 passengers in her vw polo confirmed that they were late for work and the front passenger said she didn't see the cyclist as she was busy texting. I'm sure the driver's eyes were on her phone too. The yellow lane is so wide on that specific road, a whole car can ride in it. We have now received info that the young driver, who is pregnant with her 4th child, in deep debt and on debt review couldn't even care enough to give her insurance details. She admitted seeing the cyclist in the yellow lane and only when she passed noticed that she knocked her off her bike. Zané's head cracked her windscreen. Her bike was broken in a few places. Zané's husband and 2 little girls of 3years and 7 months must now carry on with their lives and the drivers that injures or kills cyclists walks away, not even bothered because nothing wi happen to them.. Because of this, my husband and I will stay off the road, and only ride mtb from now. We owe it to our children and family. So sad that we must give up our sport because of bad driving! As far as a bike, are you bringing your own? We have weekly road / mtb rides of all sorts of distances and fitness levels, so please let me know what will suite you best... Just remember, no flat roads around here...And yes, we have some interesting climbs like Magoebaskloof, Agatha and Coach house... See you soon... Dorothy

If you enjoyed the Magoebas road race, we are back onto the old traditional Magoebaskloof route next year in May 2014 after more than 3 - 4 years of roadworks but having a spectacular MTB event the day before which you cannot miss. So remember to book your weekend of "both worlds" early next year!

Forsure one of the most BREATHTAKING events in our country... Don't miss out! You will wanna come back for more so lookout for the MAGOEBASKLOOF CHALLENGE IN MAY 2014.
