    The inaugural Bicyclegear.co.za Blowout was held last Sunday on the Vlakkenberg MTB Trail powered by Private Client Holdings, Pedal Power Association and Bicyclegear.co.za. 1st - Luke Moir 2nd- Mark Moir 3rd - Sean Newbery Click here for photos of the event. The next event will be held on the first weekend in December.

    Just a reminder of the inaugural "Bicyclegear.co.za Blowout" happening on the #vlakkenbergmtbtrail this Sunday 6th November. The B Group will start at 8:45 and do 2 laps of 2km. The A Group will start at 9:30 and do 4 laps of 2km. The start is on the Hout Bay pipe-track. If you park at Constantia Nek, follow the pipe-track on the way down into Hout Bay. If you are riding up from Hout Bay, follow Fynbos Close onto the pipe-track until you find us at the start. We will be present at the start from 8:00 until 10:30.There will be 30 riders allowed to race for each group. We are selling R30 Vlakkenberg MTB Trail permits at the the start. This allows you to ride on the trail and have free entry into the monthly "Bicyclegear Blowout" events.     Phase 3 will be finished in January. Phase 2 is happening shortly...

    We want people to ride the trail. All money raised from permits will go towards more build/maintenance days. The R30 permit is valid for a year. As the network increases so the fee will as more work is needed to maintain things...

    That is correct...We are creating a XC trail network at the moment. The whole idea is to enhance riders technical skills on a trail that can be ridden multiple times in a safe and enjoyable environment.

    It will certainly be the idea. Once the EMP allows for riders to use the Cecilia Forest jeep track, you will be able to ride the entire greenbelt from Tokai, all the way off road linking into the Hout Bay trails. The "saddle" down to Hout Bay from the Mast climb, is still a bit steep...

    The official trail opening is on 6 Novmeber. We would like to get people to buy a R30 permit or come on the day and buy one which will give you entry to all the "Bicyclegear Blowout". The monies go to building more trail and securing more land for building in Hout Bay. When you buy the permit we will send your all details.
