  1. very helpful feedback, so would you say the Agonist is similar to the Camber in the Specialized lineup and the Fourstroke to the Epic? I have to agree with your comment regarding the brain...
  2. Being a marathon XC rider myself, and you being an owner of a number of BMC bikes which model would you recommend I focus on in my selection consideration?
  3. Thanks for the reply, I recently moved from SA and there is a larger BMC Support network here than what was available in SA. It was for the reason you mentioned that I never bought a BMC when I was in SA and why I chose the Specialized. But now with having access to a decent BMC support network, its back on my radar.
  4. Hi Guys and Gals, I am looking for some advice. Recently I sold my Specialized Epic Expert (2015) and am in the market for a new bike. Being a rider of Specialized for a few years I've come to trust the bike but the price point is becoming painful. (In general, I guess) I've always wanted to try BMC and I have been offered a pretty good deal on a BMC Agonist 02 One and now I'm undecided. The Agonist is pretty new for me in the BMC range as I've normally been looking at the Fourstroke 01 two, but is the Fourstroke discontinued in 2018 / 2019? With the Agonist being a new addition to the range? I have no reference on the Agonist model The two obvious things that are on my mind about the bike is that the cockpit of the BMC Agonist seems busy with the lockout control and the one water bottle spacing... it's a bit of an issue for me with marathon type events. So any advice on the BMC as a replacement contender to a natural selection of the Specialized Epic for me would be most welcome. https://www.bmc-switzerland.com/bx-en/bikes/mountain/crosscountry-agonist-02-one/ Or as a side thought, should I consider the Speedfox (seems to be trail specific and not XC) But the trailsync tech seems to clean up the cockpit and offer a "Specialized Brain"type feature to the suspension. https://www.bmc-switzerland.com/bx-en/bikes/bike-detail/url_variation/1374/
  5. I, unfortunately, read about this too on an expat NL forum. Was a little surprised considering how many commuting cyclists there are there. But hey at least they not trying to take the bike when you still on it
  6. Hi Christine, If you wouldn't mind emailing for more info that would be great. Ill PM you with my email. Many Thanks

  8. Hi Everyone, I curious if anyone here has done any mountain biking in the Netherlands and if you have, how was it? I'm aware the Netherlands is pretty flat but I've known little local hills to be challenging at times. I'm interested to find out if there are trails there and if there is a mountain biking community or if its just all about commuting and promenade cycling? Looking forward to any comments you may have from your experience. Alternatively, if you can point me in the right direction to meet or chat with someone who has. Thanks
  9. Hi, I wonder if someone could help me understand the difference between the year model specs of the Specialized Epic Expert 2015 vs the 2016 model. Thanks
  10. Hey @popeye some pretty cool photos there. Thanks for the heads up!
  11. Hi, I only recently decided to get a little folder going of my photos taken by photographers at various events. I have already downloaded the digital ones I could find on Jetline Action Photo. However there are a few races that are not covered by them. So my question is, who covers these other races and or could someone point me in a general direction of how to find images from these other events? 2015 Fine Breede MTB 2015 Bouckaert-Soenen Road and MTB Cycle Race 2014 & 2015 99er Cycle Tour Stellenbosch MTB Challenge Thanks
  12. Hi Everyone, So I recently been thinking about getting the whole family cycling, but I have a 5 month old son. Sooooo I realise that I'm going to have to wait a bit till I can get us all out and about on the bikes. However I am looking into child seats and carriers and would like to hear of hubbers personal experiences or exposure to these things. Any tips and advice would be appreciated as well as brands to look into, model numbers and even which ones to stay clear of. Cheers
  13. Some great pics here! Thought I'd post this one taken on iPhone 5 in the gardens at the new stadium.
  14. Id also like to know if there is anything planned for this weekend or the near future.
  15. Im tempting to start commuting for similar reasons. Im in Aurora and work in CC, I would prefer to ride with someone to help with the motivation and the safety aspect. If you decide to start again, Im defn interested. Cheers
  16. Keep the updates coming, a great read of what sounded like a very tough day!
  17. Awesome read, thanks for taking the time. Best of luck and safe riding. Looking forward to your updates over the race stages.
  18. Hi, Im like many of you doing the Argus this coming weekend, and I suspect like many will be doing it on a MTB(29R). Recent conversation with mates has got me thinking about adding slicks on for the ride. So my question is simply the following: 1) Is it worth it in your opinion / experience? if yes: 2) then what tyre should I get or will any brand / make / type do? 3) Should I add sludge or some similar type sealant to them?
