Had the old Le Turbo laying around so I thought "wait just a blinking minute, why not a fixy"? (Reynolds 501, Talk about an Iron Horse) Here she was before. Shot blasting and powder coating (R200.00) Here she is with cut handle bars but no tape yet. The finished product with front brake installed (sorry for the pic quality). I have decided to call her quickfix and will have a buddy design the decals. I am still playing around with ratios before I commit but 42/17 seems good for now. I have done maybe 60 clicks on her now and although not having the usual 20 gears is hard, it is a surprisingly good ride.
In CTN we have the south easter most of the summer so sitting in front of a bunch with no help is really no picnic. I'm sure the dudes from PE will concur. Even a skinny guy helping every now and then is great.
What I don't understand, also being in the 1 ton club, is when the climbers race up the hill and then wait on the flat for people to catch up in a race. I seems like a waste of energy or an overload of testosterone

Can you imagine sitting in pub and saying, "Wait just a minute, I have a good idea, we build a special bike and stand on each other's shoulders wheelie'ing the bike backwards" and you friend says "Why didn't I think of that, let's do it".
