  1. Hi, take it to Cyclelab in Lynnwood, they helped me with the same issue- was R2500 to get new replacement unit from Garmin (they don't fix the old one). Cyclelab administered the procces and just called when new one arrived, took about a week from drop off till collection and they were both very helpful.
  2. thought this was a fantastic day out! route change and water points on 67km were great- (far more flowing and well stocked/ friendly staff), really enjoyed the single track and overall experience, even the climbs in the last 10km, the new timing method may need some refinement- but much quicker than in the past, as with any new system may need to improve, but concept and roll-out of new method much better.
  3. not sure what type of wheel set you have, but had same problem, turned out to be the sealed rear hub bearings that had failed leading to noise at crank, might want to strip and check, leads to chain tension changing and noise when applying pressure to pedal.
  4. Go to mrb.co.uk and look under the "how to" tab and search under tech advice, they have this step by step, there is a trick to it, sounds like you are not working from the inside to the back of the bearing through the hub to knock out bearing, just check out the site- also shows rear hub bearing replacement, its for hope pro freehub but stans 3.30 are the same, good luck,
  5. I had same problem on a Silverback Syncra 2 frame (2013), it looked like a crack but after sanding down was stated it was only paint deep, re-sprayed frame but "crack" re-appeared after about 100 km riding, so ended up replacing the frame, mine was pearl white paint in that area, new replacement frame (2015) is raw carbon/ black in that area, replacement frame has about +1000 km on it so far with no problems, so could be an older version/ frame design problem that has been sorted since. The Syncra frame bike setup is an absolute gem on bike park XC type trials and is my go-to bike for a day of fun with the extra suspension travel, Silverback service to date was great with no hassles to get replacement frame, might want to take a chance on just leaving it be until it looks like its getting worse?
  6. Well done River Rat on your arranging the action yesterday, the CPF guys are like a well-oiled machine to get back at the perps- hugely satisfying being present and watching the "take down" as well as knowing that the guy is off the streets. After most of the CPF and volunteers left a family stopped at the same spot completely oblivious to the near miss danger they would have been in if the action and apprehension had not taken place, so in short the points to take away from this are: 1 Be vigilant and expect the worst at all times, do not trust any seemingly safe areas if you are alone. 2 Help everyone by reporting even the smallest suspicious behaviour as this is where the CPF gets the info that leads to intervention- know there number or the number of the area you ride! 3 Look out for each other on the trails and get involved with group rides. 4 Ride the trails, as the more people using the area the safer is gets. We can get the upper hand on this if we work together and all do a small part
