  1. Been itching to get a hardtail. Drone Elite looks really cool.
  2. Racing Ralphs for me. Currently on special at Evo Bikes for R1150.00 for two tyres. Great price.
  3. Hi Rouxenator Some advice please. I'm doing the 75km for the first time. I've done the 60km three times. How does the extra 15kms on the 75km route compare in difficulty to the 60km? I'm a little nervous. Cheers
  4. Awesome! Thanks very much to BikeHub and Boschendal! Much appreciated.
  5. I'm with Johan1983 on this one. Anyone from the area have any idea how the wind is going to affect us on Sunday?
  6. The fact that someone of Ariane's quality almost didn't have a sponsor is crazy. Well done to Spur for stepping up!
  7. Hi banna Thanks. Very aware of that. Programme we're on does allow for easier recovery-type riding so should be okay. Cheers
  8. First Epic 2016. Following the Daisyway Epic training programme. 14 hours last week(including Buffet Olives 42km) and 16 hours this coming week. So far so good.
  9. Did this ride in 2013 and 2014. Weren't any showers at the finish then.
  10. This will be my first stage race. Super excited!
  11. Adidas Evil Eye Halfrim Pro or Oakley Racing Jacket are both quality choices. Just remember that Photochromatic lenses generally don't change colour immediately, so if you're riding in areas where you are constantly going from dark(shady) to light(or vice versa) like you would in a forest, then that could be a potential problem. I find that Persimmon(orange) lenses work well for all lighting conditions.
  12. Well done for initiating Wannabe. We'll give her the contact lenses she just ordered at no charge and make a donation as well. Cheers George Bosman, McNulty and DuToit Optometrists
  13. Was offered an Argus entry in 2012 just a few weeks before the actual race. Thought I was relatively fit, but hadn't been on a bike for about 24 years. Had no idea about nutrition, no cleats, no clue about pacing myself and no bike(borrowed a 26er for the occasion)................I didn't finish. It was a huge blow to my ego. A group of friends and I returned in 2013 to set the record straight and the rest is history. We've done two TransBaviaans and a TransKaroo since then and just love being on our bikes. Good times with good mates!
  14. I've done it twice. Will be there in 2015 again. Thanks for the heads up on the earlier entry date hboli4.
  15. Agree with flymango. Was at Meerendal on Sunday. Really disappointed by the state of especially the new sections. Think they should be careful not to take their loyal MTB following for granted.
  16. Hi there jcza Prices can vary dramatically depending on your prescription(single vision or multifocal, etc). Prices are usually dictated by Oakley themselves. The Flak Jacket will have to have authentic Oakley lenses fitted, as it is semi-rimless(no frame at the bottom). If you are willing to pass your prescription details on to me with the exact Oakley details(frame colour, model and lens colour), then I'd be happy to send you a comparative quote which will hopefully be more reasonable. I'm based in Cape Town, but I'm sure we can organise something. Cheers George
