  1. Gman1834 I have just printed the racing calender from Cycle Lab (CL) and they have started: as you have requested. The Ride for site race eg: Thurs-CL Centurion Friday-CL Fourways Sat-TDF Bokbg
  2. Slowpoke The Pres of Southern Gauteng aribeiro@randwater.co.za
  3. Slowpoke, all I was pointing out one bad/arrogant call/decision in 103km not to bad for the big boys wonder how many where not seen. I am always very grateful for the hard work and the time you marshals give, just for some useless info I am the oke!!! that thanked all the marshals when I rode passed them.
  4. Where there is a will there is a way!!!! A very big thanx goes to the two ladies in the spinning class who organized there sons and brothers to dive our vehicles, and yes all 8 stayed within the white line except at the water point "sorry". It was a joll and the race was awesome. Only one thing frightened me, just before the second water point two monster trucks passed us "man they pass you close" and when we got to the water point with the road full of people on bikes stopping for drinks, taking up half the road, the two monster trucks where passing in the right lane and the cars coming from the front moved off the road to avoid them and now....where do we go...with a tight fit we managed to weave our way past the water point unscarred... Can't they just this one day divert the trucks.... or some thing. slowpoke!!! Why do people always see the bad in each other, it starts from within. Wrighte2009-01-26 04:25:38
  5. Thanx a mil for making me laughed so much that translation was hilarious...
  6. Ummm, where did you get those figures? This is where I got the figs... www.news24.com 1 out of 5 licences are fake 28/07/2005 08:51 - (SA) Cape Town - More than half of all drivers licences issued since 1998 are thought to have been issued in an "irregular manner", acting transport minister Jeff Radebe said on Monday. Pretoria - The special investigation unit (SIU) has recommended the scrapping of 24 243 driver's licences the unit believes were issued fraudulently. Wrighte2009-01-17 05:05:01
  7. Thanx for the over whelming response, some of you okies!!!!! out there are rather agro about the cyclists maybe if you stop looking for the wrong a hand full of the cyclists do and you may be surprised to see the good the rest of us are doing. There are about 0.5% cyclist on the road to vehicles on the road wow 99,5% of vehicles cant be wrong I suppose, which of 40% of the motorists licences where bought for half the price of the of my bicycle licence. A good thing, I heard in class this morningn that in Feb, all cyclists that enter races will have to have a racing licence and belong too a club this, may be under correction???? can some one shed some light on it pls
  8. Three weeks I was riding from Heidelberg through Nigel on my bike to the Home Affairs to collect my passport. While I was riding on left hand side of a duel carriageway, I saw the turn I was to take coming up on the right, looked behind me saw no one, I then crossed the road to the right hand side of the road and stayed about a meter from the curb avoiding the rubble, that was present there. A young motorist came right behind me and blew his hooter contentiously until I ended up in the rubble on the edge of the road, I was quiet confused as it was a duel carriageway way. He then overtook me and shouted a good couple of obscenities at me, so I politely indicated that it was a duel carriageway and it is only the two of us travelling on the road at the time so what is the problem!!!!! Wragtag!!!! he then tried to ride me over and I had to do some real creative dodging.....to avoid from being flattened by his vehicle, only when I put my hand into my pockets at the back of my shirt and made as if I was about to pull a gun on him he sped away at a real fast pace. Nigel has a very strong cycling presents so I was quiet confused... maybe he just had a bad morning and I was used for his venting session.
  9. I have to concur with you about Lynette, Jeanine & Hiedi at VA Centurion they where my mentors and I learnt just about everything I know about being a instructor from the three of them Kool... something great?
  10. Please, a gym has been made to train in and why should you feel embarrassed, we are all there to work out and to sweat out all the daily toxins we consume and to energise our system to release endorphines, my experience is, the people that sweat more in a spinning class stress a lot more than others, that includes me and I am top fit. Once again!!!! there is a "Ramp and Rave" book at all VA gyms at the reception, a VA policy, please make use of the book, the manager of the gym is obliged to read your comment and he has to answer you. If not approach him and express your concern. If you have no joy from the VA Gym General Manager send a mail or call. www.virginactive.co.za Call Centre no: 0860 200911 Virgin Active Head Office: 021 684 3000 Wrighte2009-01-08 00:40:04
  11. Firstly it is not a job you are applying for, it is a skill and a passion you work for at the gym, you have to earn your colours there are no privileges here. Spin in classes so they get to see your ability first, your level of fitness and your passion. Then tell the manager you will stand in for sick instructors etc and then it will happen.
  12. I was a spinning instructor for 5 years at VA which of I stood in for many Instructors while they where sick at various gyms around PTA and Mid rand, this is my 7th year and still giving spinning classes but at a private gym with only 15 bikes I still giving 6 classes a week.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> All Spinning instructors at VA have to go and pass a spinning instructors course at a created academy. I have seen some serious altercation in various gyms, I was addicted to spinning if I could not give a class I would spin in other instructors classes. Now to the point, I wish that people would refrain from attacking the instructor because of his looks PLEASE focus on the issue. 1. He is a employee of VA and is bound to a contract. 2. He is getting paid to give a class and has to conduct him/her self as a professional. 3. If someone came in late I use to turn the music down and tell the person that he/she needs to warm up first. I also never fussed if someone left early what about if they had a urgent issue because of a tummy issue. 4. There is a book in all the VA gyms where you can lodge a official complaint. 5. I you get no joy from the Gym phone the Head office there is a Lady that is responsible for the conduct at the VA gyms she rules with rather a firm hand. 6. I use to give class to 36 people in the class of which 10 where on there own training program so they do there thing you as a instructor has to have a diverse personallty. To Conclude: Quite a few instructors forget or don't know they are there to lead the class and the class is not suppose to revolve around him. The spinner's in the class come first they are paying members of VA. After all Sinning Instructors are humans too (have you tried to instruct a class) I had some real rude spinners in the classes too!!!!!!! Wrighte2009-01-06 09:13:02
