  1. Ahhhhhh, a beautiful noise! I dream of owning a Ducati 1098 and I would do just that!
  2. To be honest, they need a good caning every so often, within the limits of age and technology!! My 1983 CB750F enjoys a good thrashing over Outeniqua Pass every few weeks!
  3. Ha ha, hell yeah!
  4. I see a pork rib and wors braai in my near future.....leaving Kuwait tonight after 11weeks. I might even braai bacon just for the hell of it! Lekka pics on here, am salivating!
  5. I hope he occasionally grabs a beverage of choice, powers the beast up and sits down to listen to the sound track.........garage door open of course!!
  6. Was browsing my online mags, came across this. A reworking of the new build CB1100. Well executed I think.
  7. Beautiful!
  8. Very close to my apartment in Bneid al Gar.
  9. I love the good old sunset shots (or that time of day) This is Lankawi, Malaysia.
  10. Agreed, I wonder if they seal tight. I have to clean my stainless spokes often down at the coast. I imagine corrosion would be an issue with those (imo) ugly plastic things on.
  11. But it sure looks to a beauty when done.
  12. I am only 5 ft 8, about 1m73or so in modern. The bike is tall for me to get on if I use a top bag. I can stand on flat ground with both feet touching the ground but not flat. I generally climb on and off using the left foot peg with the bike on the stand. I also shortened the stand to make it lean over a bit more. They are very upright when standard. Bike is easy to ride and is great in the dirt with good knobblies. I run Dunlop D606 or Michelin T63. Both are a little wobbly in the wet on tar but I do not mind, am used to the bike moving about. I run lower pressures too because I ride a lot of dirt and cant be arsed to stop and pump them up again. On dry tar it is easy to scrape yer boots on the ground! The fork spring mod is awesome, next will be a new rear shock suited to my weight and riding style. I have dented the exhaust can with the rear brake while riding enduro with my brother, he on his KTM 450. The new rear shock will sort that issue. The KLR is no enduro bike but is still awesome for being able to cover big tar distance and really handle just about any dirt going, even if not as fast as lighter dirt bikes. It could use a little more HP but in reality, my skill level is generally happy with the performance. Next bike will be an Africa Twin, feels just like my KLR, just about 24kgs heavier but nearly 2.5 times more power. I will not get rid of the KLR though, I like that big single thumper!
  13. I would like one of these, very lekka, never rode one though.
  14. They have quite a cult following over there. Mine has some good mods. The fork springs are upgraded. Progressive and much longer than stock. It runs a Leo Vinci pipe and DNA air filter. I have 3 filters, change them after about 200 to 500 kms of dirt riding depending on conditions. I can do 380 k to reserve which is great for where I ride. The alloy bash plate and crash bars are very good. Both have protected the bike. It also has a headlight guard. I have replaced cracked bike lights before, it is expensive! I lust after a new Africa Twin but I do like the simplicity of the KLR tractor!
  15. Trying out my new GL saddle bags. Just enough for some tyre levers, tubes, inflation cans, and some spanners. I like how they strap down tight and the weight is not too high. Backpack for water and scoff. Seems to be working well for my day jols into the Klein Karoo.
  16. This is very very lekka, throw on some Giant Loop soft bags (small day ones for the punture repair and tools) let the fun begin. I love my KLR 650 but would welcome the power of this Katoom!
  17. Actually just past Gericke's Point looking west, so east of Kleinkrantz. We walked along there from Swartvlei beach.
  18. The cliffs just west of Gericke's Point between Wilderness and Sedgefield this past weekend.
  19. Saw this on one of my FB groups this evening, apparently them fellows at Kawa are going to build it. I like it......a lot. What do you folks think? Edit for description.....Z900RS
  20. It is the dirt pass between George and Herold. I believe it is the oldest pass in the country in normal daily use, completed in 1848. To correct my spelling, it is Montagu, no e! It is a really nice cycle or motor bike route iinto the Klein Karoo, linking to Perdepoort Pass just off the N9.
  21. Chilly and misty on my return down Montague Pass this afternoon. Was a great days outing into the Klein Karoo.
  22. I have lived down here just 10 months and boy oh boy am I struggling to get the work done on my little restaurant. Peeps complain of no work but then are terrible in responding to requests for quotes and even turning up to work ha ha....but nevermind.......it is a beautiful place for MTB and my off road biking. So many trails and mountain passes to ride.
  23. The old 750 was busting for a jaunt up Outeniqua Pass yesterday. I was happy to oblige!
  24. Tierkop hut from the top of Tierkop. A pleasant walk from Nelson Mandela University in George.
  25. Beautiful trails and pics.
