  1. I used a Tacx Satori "semi-smart" wheel on trainer from Feb this year. This worked quite well, with consistent power output Decided to upgrade to a Snap last week. Saw the same issues you reported. Despite checking everything, and recalibrating, I saw no improvement in the power stability. Does not help you, but I returned it the next day and "reluctantly" dug deep into my pockets for a Core. Has been superb so far.
  2. Spoke to Garmin SA last week. Stock is in the country. Can be pre-ordered from the Garmin online store and will ship next week. According to Garmin, the 945 will be in retail stores within the next 2 weeks.
  3. I pair my v800 with the Watt Bike. Hopefully should be the same for the m430. With the bike display on, go into the pair settings on your watch. Select pair with other device, and it should show the Bluetooth ID of the Watt Bike. The ID must match the bike ID at the bottom of the bike display. Complete the pairing and the watt Bike will be stored as a "bike" on your watch. Then select Indoor Cycling mode on the watch and the bike icon will show up. You are then good to go. The watch will record speed, power and pedalling efficiency from your Watt Bike workout.
  4. I have the Edge 510 and also needed a running/fitness watch. Bought the Polar M400. Buy of the year! Can do running intervals and specific gym exercise modes. Vivoactive cannot do either yet. M400 also doubles as an activity tracker which I find surprisingly useful.
  5. Please see excerpt from BKM (Bergvliet-Meadowridge-Kreupelbosch) Neighbourhood Watch email. Contact Diepriver SAPS? "2. A suspect riding a cycle in plumstead was chased and apprehended after he failed to obey a SAPS member instruction to stop. He was propmtly arrested for being in Possession of Presumed Stolen Property, as he could not satisfactorily acount for where he obtained the expensive looking blue Giant cycle. Further he provided SAPS with a false residential address, one that when SAPS went to check, found did not exist".
  6. You can load the race gpx file onto the 510. Has no maps but will give you navigation with an arrow and the trail will be displayed using "breadcrumbs" or a dotted line. Even warns you if you stray off course. I use it for first rides on a trail. Works well.
  7. Hello I am looking for some advice on upgrading my Polar. I cycle (road, mtb), run and gym. The polar fills all my requirements except for the fact it has no built-in gps. I therefore have to carry my smartphone for strava and for running. I do not have the gps unit for the Polar. I have been toying with the idea of selling the Polar (with 2 sets of WIND sensors) and buying either the TomTom multisport or the Suunto Ambit 2. Will either of these options give me an upgrade over my Polar? I would like to have all the current functionality of my Polar but add gps, strava integration, live comparison of how far or behind I am on my current ride vs. previous ride, and maybe a routing feature to allow me to get back to the starting point on unknown trails. Don't want to drop the cash and then be disappointed. Would really appreciate some advice. Thanks
  8. Hi Guys Avid reader on the forum but first post. New to mountain biking and need some advice on the 30km route. My experience so far has only been in Tokai Forest. I have managed to ride up to the Silvermine Gate and to the tarred section before the Mast. How do these rides compare to the 30km Breede River ride? Will it be a bridge too far? Thanks
