Hi I was wondering if anyone has some ideas on an annoying creaking noise I seem to have developed on my left pedal/cleat/crank, I am not sure which is the culprit! Just some background into the problem, I have recently changed my shoes and cleats on my road bike and this seems to be when the creaking occurred, although just before that I also changed the group set on the bike and they had to remove the crank etc. So now I am not sure where the problem lies. Some people have said if its the cleats then it is more of a squeaking sound, and if it's the crank then its a deeper creaking noise. I seem convinced it the cleats , so thats why I just need some other opinions. (The bike is carbon btw) I have a set of Look Keo Blade pedals on the bike, which I have not changed and so I figured it can't be them. I did however change from the "grey" 5 degree float Look cleats, to the "black" 0 degree float pedals and changed my shoes to Shimano R321's. Some internet searches suggest spraying some oil/lube on the cleat, but i am a bit worried to try that incase my shoes un-cleat without notice. I have obviously checked to make sure every thing is tight on the shoes and cleats and the crank seems pretty secure, although I don't really know what to look for on the crank/bottom bracket, so any advise would be great cause its getting quite annoying when riding in a group and everyone looks at you, cause of the noise. I got seeded EL, which like most have said seems odd, because for the 947 I got seeded A. I know my mates who are also strong riders didn't even get into AL. Anyway, I guess it going to be an interesting race

I got seeded AL However I am thinking of dropping back a few groups due to recovering from injury So I won't push to hard, just treating it as a good training ride! So my question is which will be the most enjoyable group, with a comfortable pace of 27km/h?

The seat post looks a bit high on there! The bike looks cool though

If your resting heart rate is up, that is the first sign that you should not exercise! If you had a head cold and your resting heart rate was normal, then it should be fine to do moderate exercise, but definitely a no go in your case. The best thing is to listen to your body.

I have a stages power meter and it doesn't show a balance between left and right. It will only show power from your left leg. Its still very accurate though

Thanks for the replies! Here is a chart showing the different sizes and what size you should pick depending on your hight. So from the chart you can see where I sit between either the large or medium. I am going for set up tomorrow and will see what they say will be best. The bike shop has been great and said if it is the wrong size I can always swop it for a medium

I test rode a medium it worked, however the saddle was almost at its limit and stem was possibly to short. This is the reason that i chose a large in the end. I am just wondering if riding a large will feel as nimble as a medium? but i know a large will probably be a more comfortable fit. Thanks for the replies so far

Hi everyone So I would like to know what you all think. I have just bought a new specialised epic dual suspension 29er mountain bike. I ordered the large frame, however I wonder if I should have gone for a medium? My height is 178cm and this puts me at the upper limit of a medium frame or the lower limit of the large frame ​So I don't know what would have been better? or did I make the right choice? Thanks
