Been following this post for a while, and since you started it, the wife and I have done something similar. Packed up everything in Gauteng, and bought the general dealer, the bottle store and a house in Tonteldoos!!! We are both MTBr's as well as adventure bikers and are looking to meeting.

Urgently looking for a Fox Float RP23 180/185 rear shock for my wife's Trek Gary Fisher HiFi Pro.
Rode out to Bapsfontein this morning. When we got there, her water bottle was covered from oil leaking from the damping adjuster/lock-out on the shock.
Rest of the shock can be serviced locally, for the damping it must go to Capetown. Next week is a short week, and we have to be in Himeville on Monday the 11th to register for Sani2C!!!!!!! Any suggestions on a fix or a replacement? Anybody with 1 looking fro a home?

Wow!!!! Went for my 1st ride this morning on the new rims!!! Feels like a totally different bike! Don't know how to explain it, but feedback from wheels are more direct.
One way to compare is riding my 1200 GSA, and then getting on my wifes 800 GS. 800 is a harder, more responsive ride.

Hope Pro 11 Evo on wide ZTR Flow rims, 36 DB spokes, 4 cross with rim washers.
Second prize Spank Oozy 295 Trail on Hopes. Couldn't readily get 36 hole rims but this is also an option for the big guys.

I have no issue with replacing! Do I have to do the whole wheel, rim and hub, or can I get a rim somewhere in Pretoria, and someone to re-build?
Is there anyone in Pretoria that can help out here. Spoke pulled out of the rim this morning, and I need to have this fixed by the morning.
