  1. The frame on my Giant anthem X 2014 broke, at the seat tube and top tube connect.......Granted Giant did say they will replace the frame. Still waiting. The general consensus is that perhaps the L frame was too small and the seat post not in deep enough. The GIANT blokes are very suspect as this is their first broken anthem frame here in Taiwan. I tried to upload a pic, but no success, Any hints how to upload from pc, and I will do so
  2. Thank you for your response Travis; Well said, I hope to one day see more assembly plants and manufacturers in RSA. For job creation and local economy boosting. I hope to one day supply manufacturing machines to RSA.
  3. Pop on over, bring a mandarin phrase book and we go to a talkie bar. Wish fulfilled.
  4. People keep asking me for price lists. links to products etc. Whereas I asked a question to gauge interest, not seek business. Do you perhaps have a better or more appropriate response?
  5. Broker; Like I stated before, it was a question, not an offer.
  6. Gummibear; Like I stated before, it was a question, not an offer.
  7. Thank you, you have a good point. 1. Warranty, back to the supplier and then to manufacturer, like they do in EU and USA. 2. This is an emotional issue to an extent, yes they have to make a livelihood. Then again, so does the supplier and the consumer. Each has the choice of where to spend their money and how they choose do that is also up to them. Thank you for your opinion. I appreciate it.
  8. Trader.....with my eye on a piece of farmland Can take the boertjie out of the platteland, but not the platteland.................................you know the drill
  9. Yes, they are. A better way to put it is the two famous ones. Both Giant and Merida have become branders and assemblers a long time ago. The real manufacturing work gets done at a multitude of medium to small sized OEM factories. With China and South East Asia entering into the bicycle world market with trade agreements. Most of the smaller and medium sized factories here in Taiwan have moved unto high end stuff. Great Carbon stuff etc. Most of the high end American and EU stuff still gets made here. Lots of high quality to be had, from here as well as Japan.
  10. It was a theoretical question, to gauge interest. So far, I can take specialty orders with factory guarantees on all frames etc. We deal mostly with shops and distributors directly. But, by reading the forums here, I have noticed a big demand for high end parts that are hard to find in RSA. For those kinds of things, we can talk. But I will have to insist on a minimum order price or a group order. Yes, we have paypal.
  11. Shaper is right, to each their own...... Again, the topic of the thread was just a question. But I am a trader, and I do have some great products, there are some really great frames and bikes that are the same quality as the famous branded ones. To each their own....some want the brand. Others will accept new brands. But no fakes, or dodgy stuff.
  12. Ha Ha, no. I am assuming cycle science are the guys with the fake Pinarello stuff? No, no fake stuff here mate. I have no time for lawsuits
  13. Certainly, I have seen how small factories start up. They start turning out hubs, wheels, BB's or frames. Problem is, that as soon as the brand is established. Most will move to China or South East Asia for OEM....... cheaper and less hassle.
  14. I wonder why, you would think that the engineers will feed me BS? As far as my experience goes, they replace whatever the product is. Pay for shipping if it is a manufacturer fault and then improve on the next run of product in the factory. Again, the original post was a question. Not an offer of business.
