  1. I'd love to know how the tyres work out. I'm already considering swapping out my VeeRubbers Mission 2.35 and Speed 2.3 for Vigilante 2.3 on the rear. Can anybody recommend a grippy 2.4 for the front thats not too heavy. I'm running a one twenty 650B. Love the pasco but would agree with the stem and bar change.
  2. I love it when a plan comes together. Thank you to everybody for the imput. So here's my basic concept which I hope to build as soon as possible. I have some old concrete umbrella bases and a couple of broken aluminium poles from the umbrella's. We always break a few each year when the big winds come barreling through. So I have all the parts at hand... and it's free. So slot x2 65mm aluminium poles into the existing concrete bases, cut to length about 1100mm attach 3m pole across the top and pop rivet into place with some galvanised steel strips. Add a few stickers from the local bike shops and bingo. A portable bike rack.
  3. looking to get it built in the next month and will definitely post the results. Looking at what is popping up on the thread is great food for thought though. Saying that Simplicity is the key and I think the A frame Bike Bar is definitely the winner hands down down on cost and accessibility.
  4. Hi Chris can you repost the image....it's not showing. Also do you know where you can buy stands off the shelf.
  5. I think this is the way forward although the height of the bar being about 1200mm max that should still give a XL 29er wheel clearance at the back. I've only got a L 650B so I guessing here. I can't see it needing to be any higher.
  6. I still need a steel option as well. The general consensus so far is the tradition floor rack doesn't really work that well. I'd still like to explore both options though.
  7. That could work go rustic with the gum poles and and keep the bar height is low enough so the kiddies can't swing. The question then is how high.
  8. I did consider the A frame it makes total scence... My only issue is kids will use it to swing off and then the fat kid will for sure bend or break it. We have a secure area for the bikes with CCTV coverage so locking them up will not be neccessary.
  9. I've been looking at buying a couple of bike racks/parks for some time for our restaurant. We get quite allot of families riding at weekends as well as MTB'ers and a few roadies. I've also visited a few places where I've not been entirely happy with the bike stands and left thinking there must be better options out there. Can you guys share your experience on what makes a good stand. The basic brief is the stand needs to accommodate up to eight bikes made from galvanised mild steel so I can have it locally manufactured. The stand will be bolt fixed to concrete floor. I've included a few designs off the web to get the ball rolling.
  10. Each to their own. Buyer Beware.

  14. The only issue I have is hitting tree's and knocking down old ladies on the pavement as I ride past in the cycle lane. On the plus side U have taken out a few car wing mirrors. Go big or Go Homie.
