  1. I had the seal the wrong way round So fixed that and it's much better
  2. Ok so it's star ratchet one Where is free hub seal? Outside one that skewer goes through Or the one that sits in the main hub body after lockring
  3. I have the two spacers in that sandwiches springs and the pawls Best i can find on the net Is someone had same issue Stripped cleaned and reseated bearings but not as deep
  4. https://www.dtswiss.com/en/technology/wheel-technology/ratchet-system-technology/
  5. No shim that I can see. There are two washers. One on each side of the springs to keep them off the bearings. Then pawls in the middle
  6. I have a DT Swiss wheel with X1600 hub It works with pawl system I just serviced it and changed bearings If the wheel is off the bike the free hub works. When locked onto the bike with skewer it then binds and is basically a fixie I have checked assembly against schematic When inserted it seems it slightly over to drive side (talking mm) All ideas will be welcomed
  7. I also have a pair and been looking for another set.
  8. Like all great ideas. It seems obvious once someone has done it. Good job Now What do they retail for and where can we get our hands on them
  9. Diesel and paraffin are oily. Not sure how good that would be on discs... Petrol maybe
  10. Hairy definetly needs to start paying commissions Told him I want the bike. Now its in his court to get his replacement bike so we can close the deal Thanks for all the feedback
  11. Thanks for all the responses. What i figured So on a tangent. Need a transporter then
  12. I need a hand There is a bike in the for sale section I have my eye on. It is in Cape Town but I am in Gauteng I would like someone to go check it out for me. All seems in order and the 20 million pics ( Thanks Hairy) seem to show that all is in order but just need someone to take it for a spin.
  13. The more I read this thread the more I worry. Doing the marathon I got a 26er hardtail ( Momsem Al126 - so not light and terrible fork), It is on 1x9 and I am not as fit as I was a few months back (new baby takes training time) But I entered and I am committed so guess its bite my tongue and get some time in the saddle in the next few weeks. I may shave my legs to get me a few seconds on the downhills. If any of you have supporters please ask them to keep a chilled beer for me on the climbs. I will probably be walking faster than I could ride it
  14. I called the store nmber and put me through to the new owners. They may have forwarding contact details for you
  15. I havent asked Garmin yet. Figure there may be a couple of Tech savy geniuses lurking around here. I found info for the edge 500 but nothing for Fenix 2.
