  1. We've got one of these beauts on review and Epic tested. Watch this space
  2. Source here: https://bicyclesouth.co.za/2019/01/the-overberg-meander/ So might be a bit outdated. Best try and contact Trails End for more info! Overberg_Meander.gpx
  3. Please excuse the filthy bike, photo doesn't do it justice but there's decent clearance. 32c would be an option
  4. Update on the tyre clearance: I've fitted a set of Vittoria RideArmor 30c tubeless tyres for training, and there is plenty of room!
  5. Congratulations! I'm sure there will be a crew of saffas, we had a great contingent this year. Enjoy every minute of it
  6. Entered! Looking forward to this one 😊
  7. Really enjoyable event! I'll be back next year for sure 🙂
  8. I will be giving 30s a try at some point in the name of research
  9. I don't know the area at all except for a quick trip here- https://bikehub.co.za/news/trail-daze-2-0-summerplace-game-reserve/ Well worth a visit if you can and they rent e-bikes and analogue as for as I know.
  10. I was so impressed by the brief time I had on these trails, it really is a special destination, and it is on my bucket list to return and ride everything.
  11. They are local and based in Somerset West, so get in touch: I'm sure they'll be willing to chat, and get feedback on their product info
  12. I did it this year, it but I didn't get around to a story for it! We did the budget version (hotel package) and logistically that is a little more challenging than the boats. There is a fair bit of packing up and bussing and ferries, whereas the boats you unpack once and your 'hotel' takes you from Island to island. If I were to try and klap another international Epic, personally I'd go for Swiss Epic over 4Islands, but it is still an absolutely incredible experience, and you won't regret it!
  13. The main road through Hermanus to Stanford should be safe and they've redone the road so there is a nice big shoulder. Then if you need more mileage take the gravel road past Beloftebos.
  14. If you know them please ping the organiser to add this to the Events Calendar. Looks like a great day out - https://bikehub.co.za/events
  15. I think best to drop the organisers a mail - info@urbangoat.co.za
  16. Ooops, seems there was a typo in the info supplied - it was an 840 😉
  17. According to my sources the Scalpel 2 comes with a Sid Select + (120mm) (aka not a Lefty) and will be available countrywide from Thursday 😊
  18. Elite start list for those following the sharp end. Good luck to everyone riding in that heat! UCI Riders Attakwas 2024.pdf
  19. Entries are closed, and there are no substitutions unfortunately. It's best to contact the organisers directly for the most accurate and up to date info 😊
  20. Looks like it is a go, entries are closing on Wednesday: https://bikehub.co.za/news/entries-close-soon-for-the-inaugural-jar-from-dirt-gravel-ride-2/
  21. It's close to my folks, and the riding out there is awe-inspiring, so I'm hoping to give it a go and will report back.
  22. I just checked with Dryland Events, apparently it's teams only from 2024
  23. They also added it to the Events Calendar here, which is how I found out about it: https://bikehub.co.za/events/races/view/586/road-to-desolation
  24. There is also this that I put together annually - https://bikehub.co.za/news/2023-gravel-race-calendar-r8519/ We rely on events organisers to be proactive and list their events in the Events Calendar (it's free), and I use that as a guideline for the article, there are events that have come up subsequently that need to be added
  25. Perfect summary it's just an all round experience!
