  1. 30 seconds taken off your PR for that segment now πŸ˜†
  2. Look, I have an extremely competent committee around me. Don't think I accomplished any of this man alone. I am but a small cog in a small but extremely dedicated machine
  3. Yes. And we arranged to have the road resurfaced which they have just finished at the 11th hour πŸ˜… Almost had a bit of a disaster on our hands but it is completed and ready to race
  4. The fruit sellers 4 way is less than 14km away. (I mapped all the routes) so you have plenty time.
  5. Take whatever you have to registration and let them check. Best option
  6. One can dream....
  7. This the Northern Suburbs, there may be nothing left by that stage....
  8. ask your "friend" how soon he can get back to the start?🀣
  9. thanks! πŸ™‚ This year we have upped our game to ANOTHER level. Much better registration experience at Durbanville. Massive upgrade to venue in terms of stretch tents and food trucks. Also sorted out the Q issue at the bar!! Podium has been moved to make it much more visible. The list goes on. We did a marketing poll using an external company last year to see what works and what doesn't and have built on that. Obviously we cannot please all the people all of the time but this year we really tried! Enjoy the race, see you guys there hopefully!
  10. Racetec handles that. You can do it at registration. There is always an admin fee payable
  11. Email me, I'll send
  12. don't know how to DM you πŸ™„
  13. still available?
  14. I don't know the answer to that one, sorry. Racetec will be present at registration so they can potentially assist with that
  15. Email me. nicholashaupt@gmail.com
  16. It should be imminent as seeding was done 3 days ago....
  17. yes, we do get SOME funding from the COCT as a whole but all traffic costs (officers, vehicles, etc) has to be paid for by us 😞 and these are high!
  18. Arrie, I hear you. Unfortunately our race costs silly money to host (you won't believe it if I shared numbers) and we also have to pay Racetec, PPA, etc. Every discounted entry would COST US, not just reduce our turnover. Remember, we run this as volunteers as parents of the school kids. We put in 100s of hours, literally without pay and every cent profit we may make goes to the school
  19. I rode the entire route as a recce last Saturday on a hardtail MTB with 2.35 tyres. Perfect for the course. Respectfully, unless you are a gravel racing snake, stick to a regular MTB
  20. We close entries tonight for the seeding to be done and then I believe they open again in a weeks time for a late late entries (but i speak under correction) We are expecting a record number of entries this year and we have expanded the venue and facilities accordingly. We also did an extensive survey last year and have implemented a few things based on feedback. For example, the bridge connecting the neutral zone to the venue has been change so that it is now a smooth RAMP and not stairs πŸ™‚ Looking forward to seeing you all on the 7th!
  21. hI Seems some "random person" creates a 99er event page on BH... Yes, we are extremely aware of the road conditions. Unacceptable from a race point of view thus we have been in contact with road authorities and the promised to have it fixed in time.... One can only hope and pray.... Nicholas
  22. Highlight Alert! 🚴πŸ”₯ Catch all the 99er action on SuperSport Cadence tomorrow night! Relive the thrills, the camaraderie, and the vicories. Don't miss it! πŸ“ΊπŸš΄ Toyota Cadence airs on SuperSport Channel 206 at 7pm.
  23. Let me find out...we didn't have an official photographer as such (like in the Cycle Tour) but we did have 2 video media guys and 1 still photographer there on behalf of SuperSport - it is showcasing on Cadence tomorrow night I believe. Thus, there is possibly some kind of photo repository somewhere....
  24. OK. Turns out there was a little confusion between finishing sheet and finishing times. All sorted and final photo was correct 😁
  25. Our (99er) finish marshal confirmed with me that FT had to go to their backend system and measure the time to the 100th of second to determine the winner...😬 We (99er) don't have video. This would have been taken by WP Commissaires However, interestingly, the finish was not AS FAST as we had expected. Apparently 2nd place sat up once he saw 1st place was taking it. BUT, I was not there to see so it is hearsay
