I think the HTA is slack enough, not a fan of the super slack trend. 2.6 tyres and a dropper post and you're sorted. As long as the chainstays are robust enough.

That was, hands down, the best Atta yet. The veld was amazing! Hardly saw anyone. Weather was great, -2C going out of town, but warmed up lekker. Please move the event to August!!

Perhaps the new Venom compound will have better puncture protection. I have just removed the previous Mezcal as a back tyre, 4 rock punctures in a month. The tread pattern was great and the outer compound nice and grippy, but it wore down very fast and unfortunately many punctures on familiar rocky terrain. Good weight and volume.

I'm interested in a spare hanger for the STF frame, anyone?

I also prefer flat mtb bars, more confident in tech terrain and much simpler/cheaper. Carbon fork drops a good kg off the weight.

Yes! I have Str and stf as my 2 bikes, gen 2, 38 will fit on both.

I have their hubs in both Shimano for SS and xd configuration, for gears. I think you will be hard pressed to find a decent shimano hub for less than R800. They are also some of the most robust, with big pawls, I've seen. Highly recommended.

Wow!! Richard has built some amazing new trails at Honingklip. A lot of effort has obviously gone into them and he's had help from professional trail builders. Proper, proper stuff. Awesome views over Botrivier lagoon. We measured just over 800m ascent in 28km. R50 day permit next to the brewery, Snapscan, easy. Lekker beer after the ride.

Day1 is going to be a fair bit tougher than usual. Make sure your Granny gears are working well! Enjoy!!

Get a new hub. I'd recommend rapide. Great hub, excellent service, very good price.
