  1. If this knob is in hiding as a result of the cycling communities rightfully so hatred towards him, he may even consider stopping all cycling activity. He may in fact be looking to get rid of his bike etc.... just a thought. Be vigilant, he must be found.
  2. I just want to acknowledge the guys at Rack & Pack (Thule & Brink Dealers) Beyers Naude Drive. On Sunday I had an issue when my car indicators stopped working as I fitted my Thule bike rack. After receiving the incorrect fuses from Midas on Sunday I thought it best to send it too the dealer as its still under motor plan. Turns out it was just a fuse but was warned that the bike rack or towbar may be the issue. I took the car and rack to Rack and Pack. They were so helpful. Checked all wiring in the car and the bike rack. They found the issue and even made some adjustments to ensure that this does not necessarily happen again. They could have told me to book it in etc.... but they stopped what they were doing and assisted. An hour later and R200 later all sorted and better off than before. If you have a Thule bike rack or Brink towbar these are the guys to deal with. Please support them if possible.
  3. Hi, as mentioned above by LBKloppers we assume your cycling whether it be Road/Gravel/ MTB. I purchased a Suunto Spartan in Nov 2017 because I too had a tight budget. I had endless issues with the accuracy of the wrist HRM functionality. If HRM is important for you then you must look at the HRM strap for accuracy. I have had 3 Spartans replaced because the accuracy was so bad and eventually they upgraded me to a Suunto 5. I still see a vast difference between my Suunto 5 and my Garmin (130) with HR, average HR and even the ascent and descent. I don't use my Suunto to download to Strava at all because of the inaccuracy. Just my 2cents.
  4. Sorry I'm only replying now. Just want to say thanks to all the commnets and advise , really appreciate it. Things have got back to normal, so I put it down to meds potentailly (antibiotics). Thanks again.
  5. Cant be the battery, I'm getting the same readings off another hr monitor. Ive checked settings etc... also all good. I expected to lose some fitness but not to that extent. Just a bout of flu, nothing crazy. Gonna persevere for anothewr week and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Hi, I'm sure this topic or similar topics have been posted but I couldn't find anything. My max heart rate is 172 bpm. Recently I was ill for a 2 week period. I started riding again and ever since I was ill I cannot get anywhere near my max. Right now 145bpm is the best I can do yet my speed etc... over the same distances I have done in the past hasnt change at all. Could 2 weeks off the bike really be the reason? Any advise would be appreciated.
  7. I often ride that section on my "pat malone" Wont be venturing there again. Seems like nowhere is safe anymore. I considered Spruit one the safest...
  8. Hi All, I have a friend who needs to have their wheels trued. Most cycling stores offer this service but he and I are a little sceptical of some of the stores. Simple tasks are not done properly for example.Without costing an absolute fortune, could any fellow hubbers offer some advise as to which store has a good reputation in this regard.
  9. Sad sad news. Condolences to the family. RIP!!!!!
  10. **** that's terrible. Thanks for the sad info.
  11. Hi All, I've just heard some disturbing news that a cyclist has died on the Spruit yesterday. Can any one confirm this? I hope its not true.
  12. Hi Fellow Hubbers, Due to business constraints I have not been able to train for the 94.7 road cycle challenge this year. Is it still possible to finish the race considering?
  13. This for one customer!!!!! Does his spend warrant possible action taken against you and your reputation? I think not.
