Even on my motorbike it does not even set off the traffic light sometimes. I sit like a fool and then a car comes up in the lane next to me and stops behind the coil. Makes my blood boil

Nearly got taken out on Marine drive yesterday by a truck that jumped a red at Paarden Isle.
I still say to be a tow truck driver you should be a qualified medic. They always first on scene.
Anyone on The Hub had pneumonia before? Im still getting over mine been just over 2 weeks now. How long should i wait till I get back in the saddle.

Thanks all for the replies. This portal is the best. One question: Why handlebar mounts rather than helmet mounts? Wouldn't they be more stable? Can I please hear from hubbers who use helmet mounts?
more stable on the handle bar than your head. Your head goes all over the place.

Think I'm gonna book into the cullinan next year too, is there a early bird booking special? How far is it from the start or the finish? I laugh in the face of the 2 lappers... 1 is more than enough are they going for the strava challenges or to make us normal riders feel better?
about 500 mt to the start and a couple of Ks from finish. Im sure there will be early bird specilas out

I am booking into The Cullinan next year!! Great to be treated as valued guest. Suggestion (pushing it?) - the very early crowd (4:30) are all serious and eat very little. When I am back by 10:00 I am ready for a proper breakie - was nogal eina to pay again since the first meal was miniscule. How about a ready made 2 lapper run in and grab pack?
should not have had to pay again. As we know that most of the guys eat a little. The two lapper is a great Idea . Will just have to find out how many we need when guys check in. Can have a station outside on the road for you. thx for Idea.

While im on the top of the Argus. Need some Ideas to make it better for you next year.
On my Grab and go Station this year I had
Potato bombs, boiled eggs, mini banana breads, muffins, bananas , gu chomps, gu sachets, wine gums and jelly babies,tea coffe juice, and a semi frozen banana and peanut butter smoothie.
What else would you like to see?
Also after the race we had beers , champs and OJ and biltong . Anything else you guy would like?

I think it was your original post that made me book into the Tsogo Waterfront. GREAT idea. Everything worked out great. Little cycle will be on my desk. Good early breakfast, bottle freezing etc. Sadly no shuttle to registration but that is no biggie. Will be back (big compliment since I have timeshare in The Peninsula).
?? Wat we had one next door. . Will pass on the comments to the GM. thx. We aim to try do it better next year.

im Good and you Slowbee. Riding not so good was down for a long time with a back problem. trying to get back on the bike but hard to get the motivation 
Will be some specials . new GM also cycles and goes even more out.

Any recommendations for good accommodation close to the start so that you can get there on your bike?
Depends on your budget. We are very argus freindly at the hotel where I work. A little welcome pack,Do a pre argus dinner, 4 am breakfast with grab and go station, Havea hubber in the foyer with spares etc. Hopefully next year will be in on saturday as well. Give little well done trophies out etc. A few hubbers have had the dinner and stayed over

Cant go wrong with a Reign. Awsome bikes
Thet have 3 buses that go from Durbs to PMB. The first is $:30 i think . The last one leaves at 5:30 and takes about a hour. As was said before you take your bike to the stadium they pack it as is no removing of any item , Next day they drop u at you bike u ride 2ks to the start and then wait to start.
Its not that bad. I have done 3 going to try make it a 4 this year.
