Motorbikes, especially off-roaders, have had this configuration since the 60s. I reckon the days of equal sized wheels are numbered.

90% of my riding is either road or Spruit Trail / Blue route type stuff so I'm not too worried. I'll report back if they take a proper knock. Sorry, the eBay link was a dumb move. I couldn't find the original ebay item I used. It was an auction that I won for $34 and postage was free. Paid R24 duties on collection.

My Silverback Vida 1 came with Shimano M520s and I don't have the appropriate shoes for them. I quickly swapped them out for a cheapie pair of flats from LBS, but my AEST flats have FINALLY arrived from China. R400 on ebay, magnesium body and titanium axle - 78g each. The 530s and the cheapies were both 190g per pedal. I'm all for public scrutiny but you guys seem awfully cynical. Where can you get an Edge 510 for R4600? Keep in mind this also includes a R500 helmet/eyewear voucher and half price for a number of race entry fees. It's like any other Vitality benefit; try milk it and and doesn't always make sense but use it the way it's meant to be used and it'll pay for itself pretty quickly, not only with the obvious perks but the points/status/card cash-back thing is not to be underestimated.

Getting back into cycling after a 15 year...erm...break. Took delivery of a Vida 1 on Friday. The Hub classifieds are brilliant!
