Re: 1 and 4 - my iPhone to chrome cast gives us a really good experience on our tv Re: 5 - they have some pretty frustrating bugs in the browser version e.g. if you’re not allowed to watch the main race but should be allowed the highlights it doesn’t work in browser, only in iPhone app
3. Anyone aware of companies or people that service Gaggia home machines? Doesn’t seem to be a broadly supported brand here....
4. Thanks so much Thenerd for the above, super happy what’s pulling through my new purchase! [emoji7]
5. Thenerd please! Just send you a PM - very keen
6. I’ve had 2. Used with a decent grinder you can get pretty good results. But it’s a double layer basket which is fundamentally limited - they tend to last us 18 months and then the seals blow if you’re pushing to get decent espresso out
7. Sure. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088MGBJH3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_18QWEb7W5QCGZ is the tool. Welcome to borrow mine if in CT. Needed 3 different torx screwdrivers and 1 large Philips screwdriver - they need to reach about 25cm and be magnetic as the screws are quite deep down. A set of long nose pliers. And a torch. That's it. I didn't replace anything. The brew head can't be serviced as far as I can see. But coffee powder gunk gradually builds up in it, so removing it and spraying it out from every angle and letting it dry before putting it back keeps it going and going.
8. Guides on Google, but there is a cheap custom oval wrench that I got on Amazon, postage was cheap
9. Just serviced my Jura F50 by myself, put it back together and it's churning out lovely espresso. Stoked.
10. I have a really decent Jura F50 bean to cup, and we've resorted to using our separate grinder and popping the ground coffee in the Jura - bean to cup definitely has its limits
11. Yeah nothing I can find besides the mild normal strong, already on strong
12. Thanks for advice - temperature is on the higher setting. How do I set a higher dose?
13. Got my Jura F50. Lots to learn. My first impression - it's going to be hard to get it to give enough extraction. I've set it to Aroma intense, smallest shot size it can do (30ml), chosen Strong, set the grind size to finest, and produced a dbl espresso by pressing the single espresso button twice (because the dbl espresso button seems to just double the dosage of water through the same amount of coffee) - it's close to the right extraction, but a slight sourness. Any tips for guruland?
14. Sorted. Got an F50 that's only pulled 3500 shots in its lifetime. Planning to double that number over the next year in our house
