That is not what was said......that is the problem...people assume to quickly.....read hariman's post again Where does it say that he does not have one? Point exactly, everyones assuming that the guy in the SUV is wrong, because he drives one. Got nothing to do with the story (what he drives) the cyclist switched him, the point he is trying to make. SUV are generally large, so did said switcher not see him, take a chance no one knows.Dont crucify the guy for driving a SUV.

It seems as if my velo 8 does not have a setting for the 29er, unless I am missing something. Will I need to go out and purchase something else, if yes any suggestions, or is their a way to change the default setting? Thanks

[/quote'] I'm suprised too, was it the same model year? I can understand a grand or 2 depending on the bike (ie not a R3000 one), but R7300 is pushing it. I hope you do your own maintenance, cause I wouldn't want to know how they'll charge you in the service. Yep both 2010 models, exactly same bikes. I was looking around for a 29er, being year end all LBS have the same line, waiting for shipment, not sure when customs will clear, so early next year sometime. Managed to locate one at a LBS (north) but they were ridiculously more expensive than the LBS (west) who could order one in for me at a lower price but i would have to wait. Is it just the location of the store? Maybe I am a naive newbe, but I also thought that pedals would be included in the original price of a bicycle.

I have heard of so many bikes stolen in this area. My bikes were in the garage, garage doors closed, rear door unlocked which meant they had to go aroung into the back yard. All bikes were locked with a cable, which they managed to cut. They have got no idea of bikes though as they took the cheaper GT's and left my sons Scott and wifes Merida. My insurance paid me out for the Merida (was only insured for 9000) I slipped up badly with new bike proces, but the 2 x GT were not specified. Thanks I have visited all the LBS, and as mentioned most prices are very similar and to replace the 3 very expensive. Thanks

Hi all, Although newly registered I have been a regular reader of the forum. Last week 3 x bikes were stolen out of our garage, living in SA that was less of a shock than new bicycle prices. I had a Merida LX bought a couple of years ago for about R7000, to replace this now with the latest model TFS 800 - R 11 900-00 The other two were GT 2.0. I cannot afford the TFS 800 and am looking to replace with the TFS 500, the best price I have managed to get is R 8 600,00. Is this about right. The GT 2.0 I can get for R 6 600,00. I know they are cheaper on CRC, but if you understand my ltd technical ability, putting a bike together, well lets leave it at that. Are their same spec bikes at better costs? Its great to finally be a member. Cheers
