  1. I came here for the Hubber Hype........ Enjoy the Ride all Going for sub 3 this year from group 1H. All in or bomb in spectacular fashion and with wind it will most probably be the later.
  2. I will be riding, Cousins live out there so Free Accommodation is always a plus. Just going to be riding as it is such an amazing area. Lol the Route profile looks mean, then you look closer and see the highest point is only 85M
  3. HE HE, some basic Avalanche rims with Quando hubs, cheap and cheerfull. They look more expensive than they are. This bike is still used as my race machine, love the expression on faces when I hit a hill and start shifting with good old friction shifters.
  4. My Classic Roadie, just fitted new Rims, Rear Derailer, chain and 8 speed cluster. Massive difference compaired to the old steel rims, feels like it is Brand New and not 32 Years old.
  5. This race was one of the toughest I have done in ages, only just managed to do over 2 hours! Stopped at all the tents, stopped and played a little with my daughter, had a banana by Rawson stand, had a Barone. Took selfies with HP AC100. All in all it was actually great to just sit back, have an open road and just enjoy the ride. Also got to meet a few hubbers, road to CTCT and Back, gave it some grunt on the way back to just make it feel like we actually did a ride Hope everyone stayed safe.
  6. Could not agree more, Enjoy the ride, CTCT's a Journey be it only 47KM
  7. Cav is riding Vibe is good Gees is up now we be rolling tomorrow, M3 all to ourselves, no cars to worry about, maybe just some nervous riders.
  8. indeed, money is tight, I say you give what you can and want to give, leave the other people to do the same!
  9. its a new form of shedding unwanted weight, 5grams here, 5 grams there, 40% of that and yu lost 2KG without knowing, all very scientific
  10. I bought the 1200 Lumens light for some Night time MTB Riding, great salesmen, spent bucks I wasn't supposed to I was like in two minds, they like, you want discount, I was like.....DAMN just take my freggin money!
  11. "Argus Vibe" slowly but surely getting re-established, well done! Going to be there with Bright Yellow Helmet, Captain America Top, a Jean Pant, and Classic Red Racer. ohh and shiney blue sunglasses.
  12. So question is, do we go for the new 3Hour Mark = 1.5 Hours or sit back and enjoy the ride? Will probably come down to the day and us guys with the competitive steaks will just take one guy going a little quicker for it to become a race. I shall not be overtaken! ha ha and then it is on like Donkey Kong!
  13. Its going to be a great ride Sunday, I wouldn't have minded if it was cancelled altogether but very happy it is still going to happen, for a lot of people, even the 47KM is going to be tough. So enjoy the vibe, Cape Town should line the streets and lets make a party, set a record for the largest party in the world, and the largest timed social cycle in the world.
  14. It must suck for the international riders but remember that they manage the insurance for the riders, if 10 000 or the 35 000 pick up respiratory issues during race that will be way too much to cover. Also all along the mountains there are dangers or Rock falls etc. Going out to the Northern Burbs maybe an option but not at this short notice.
  15. Hopefully........... Work Rate, poor, trolling for CTCT info rate, exemplary
  16. Statement only at 18:30 now, another 2.5 hours
  17. Nothing stopping the Cycle tour from going along there, just the risks of Mudslides should there be rain, Ash that can be blown up by South Easter Wind, Rocks that could have been dislodged by heat from fire on mountains.
  18. 3 Hours and 20 minutes, hopefully they don't move the press report again!
  19. It does go both ways yeah, It is actually very difficult to call when you really sit down and think about it. It could be seen as disrespectful if the route goes on, but on the other hand it could be very uplifting to have a great well enjoyed event to continue. The other side is will this hamper any of the rescue services and aid services that will be running in the area. If it was to continue it should be as far away from the affected area as possible.
