  1. Wow, I past Adre lying there on my way home after a Table Mountain Rescue, it has been on of the most shocking events i have experience, but strangely today I rode my bike to work for the first time this year and coincidentally a year to the day after his fatal accident. Who put the bike there - I hope that this gets done more often - not so the bikers fall, but more so people become aware of cyclist.
  2. I was on my way home from a rescue on Table Mountain when I came across the accident scene. Not seeing any services around I stopped to see if I could assist but someone on the scne approached me and during our three sentence conversation let me know that he was deceased. This was truly traumatic as I often cycle this area too. I really hoped that no one was to blame but hearing that it was a container truck my heart shivers as there are just so many of them around that area. I know the cycle tracks are not always ideal but I hope they make the roads safer for us. RIP Andre - my condolences to your freinds and family.
  3. I am in, and will encourage all in my circle of influence to do the same.... http://sutherlandstars.blogspot.com/
  4. When I started riding a few years ago it was seen as an elitist sport as the poor could not afford bicycles. I have seen a number of initiatives to correct this and I must say that I fond that the majority of cyclists are very charitable. We have a team that will be taking part in the Argus this year and it is a small start, but I must thank everyone who has helped us along the way, read the blog for further details, which is located at the address below. One organization has offered to make goody bags for the riders and I was at a loss for what could be put inside. We suggested the usual soap, lip ice, jelly babies but what would you place into a goody bag for a development team? http://sutherlandstars.blogspot.com/

  6. I bought some just the other day at Eagle, M5 business park. They are R89 each, consume about 1,5W. There are 20 leds in them. I also bought some at Zebbies in Durban for R79 (Lohuis) but they are not as bright. I am running them off of 12Vdc not sure if that's why they are not so bright, but they are great for night lights.
