  1. Rode AL and was pretty disappointed in getting caught off guard and missing the break at 30km's. From there the next almost 50km sat in front trying to chase back. Expected a bit more help from the second group guys but no luck. Finally paid the price for my hard work at hekpoort where i suffered all the way up.
  2. Seems like Hekpoort starts at around 95km into the race. Last year ascent was around 980-1000m however with extra climb to Maropeng looks like its going to be ± 1100m.
  3. Would have loved it but a bit above my price range thank!
  4. I am selling my Scott Addict Road bike and is looking to upgrade to something new. Either new or second hand. Has no specific bike brand preference just that it should be a bit of all-rounder type bike suited for both climbing and racing. Any advice on options to consider with a budget of around 25-30K?
  5. Any chance of Tacx Indoor Road Tyres being on sale?
  6. Looking to join any road groups riding from Somerset West or Strand on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings. PM me if possible
  7. Agreed, love mine. A few small iritations like size and options in terms of pages available for display options (only 2). Otherwise good value for money.
  8. Here's link to my race. https://www.strava.com/activities/503264564
  9. Also bummed to miss out this year. My route from last years race was 45km with 617m accent. With most of it coming from 30km onwards.
  10. A bit late to the responses but here's my 2c on the race and the experience. Had a tough first 50km sitting in front with not a lot guys in C wanting be in front. Had a better second section but struggled a bit by the time we hit Steyn City. Very happy with my 2:37 from C though. Just made me think how much of a difference your bunch's willingness to work has an effect on your ride. Being a MTB'r actually still something to figure out for me. Hopefully next year better seeding will allow me a sub 2:30. Was my first 94.7 and enjoyed it. Second lap allowed me some sight seeing and taking in the environment. Max speed was around 77.8km/hr.
  11. Any one welcome to join. Meet at corner of Jean Ave and Rabie Street at Zenex garage at 04:55 to leave at 05:00. Yes there are one or two who stop at the garage however most of guys ride to the garage with there bikes. We normally get back around 06:30-07:00
  12. All depends on the day you ride but Tuesdays ±27-30kph, Wednesday ±32-35kph and Thursdays ±28-30kph. Weekends Saturdays 100km + normally probably above 30kph and Sundays ± 28-30kph.
  13. Yes, was clear sign of 40km left to finish and 60km right to single track. I was very surprised to find out one more guy was in front of me than what I thought since we were chasing the group of guys in front of us.
  14. Fully agree, there was definitely a few guys that took the short cut bypassing the nice new single track section.
