  1. Suspect they are in the process of winding down.
  2. Angry ex-girlfriends are also an excellent source of news on anyone doping.
  3. Exactly. Carmen whats-her-name only got 2 years for EPO!
  4. It must be quite a serious violation or a repeat offender to get a 4 year suspension.
  5. Doping in professional sport should be punished by a little bit of prison time, it is fraud after all. Suspect that would make many think twice.
  6. Maybe more of a "non/limited-competitive event" rather than a race, open to all categories. Perhaps there is a term for this, gran fondo?
  7. Not so sure about that. If you are using a race pedal, like say a keo blade, then the force required to pop out without involving a sideways action is massive. The bike tends to stay with you unless the there is a sideways motion to the fall. And even then.
  8. Imagine the kind of forces in play for him to uncleat like that.
  9. And number boards
  10. I think the excellent weather conditions on the day was ironically the source of the safety problems. Everyone was just about peeing themselves to get their personal best in the conditions. I started in & but had a heavy racing week doing TOGH so opted to just ride it and enjoy the view instead. &, @ and 1A were all fast but not particularly dangerous. After 1A it just got stupid, was chopped repeatedly despite keeping left and letting them past. Worst behaviour on a bike I have ever seen, that includes the CSA junior classification and they are notoriously reckless.
  11. And skipping that extra payment by not passing begin.
  12. There is also the problem of the expo. You are supposed to avoid large crowds and crowded spaces right before a race as they are an easy way to pick something up. Except you end up being forced to attend the 'expo' whether or not you want to.
  13. It seems "environmentally more friendly" is becoming a very good euphemism for "cheaper". But yeah, practical.
  14. The dark-side of full road closure, guys riding like utter loons over the entire width of the road instead of holding a line. You see it at the other full closure events too.
  15. Also doing this one.
