  1. Hi guys Amid the whole controversy of the Commonwealth Games selection, we still have the honor of a Saffa in the form of Philip Buys representing our country. Speaking as a personal friend, I know he will give it all to make his country proud. So although not everybody agrees with his selection, let's still unite behind the great guy that will definitely make us proud and hopefully bring back a medal. Follow our Facebook and Twitter pages to show your support and let's skyrocket his confidence before the big day! Facebook : The Philforce Twitter : @thephilforce We will keep you posted with regular updates.
  2. Check out Buffelsdrift MTB Park on facebook.
  3. They'll be racing on 650b dual suspensions.
  4. At this stage its not entirely fair to judge on past results. Yes I agree in the past Phil hasn't been a force to reckon with in the majority of XCM races. Mostly because all of his training was focused on XCO. They won last year's African jersey almost purely on XCO specific training. Partnering with Nino this year has shifted his focus primarily to XCM racing with Epic as the end goal. Seeing how hard and disciplined he has trained the last few months, specifically for Epic, I reckon they will at least be podium contenders.
  5. Why? Have you seen either of their training programmes?
  6. On the entries page there is an option stating whether you would like to purchase a new number board or use the one already allocated to you(if its not your first race). Its your own stupidity if you dont read through the entry correctly and arrogant to throw a tantrum if you dont have your facts straight about it.
  7. I saw an announcement by Advendurance that the MTN Gravel Travel race in Wellington will serve as SA XCM champs this year.
  8. I bought the Scott MTB Pro shoes about a year ago at Hotspot cycles for R 1200. AND THEY'RE AWESOME! Much better than the Sidi's I had before them.
  9. Well done Tim! Hats off to the route planning. Last year the 70 and 40 joined in a piece of single track which caused some congestion. I see this year the route is in the opposite direction than last year. This means the 70 and 40 meet at a point where there is very little single track left in the race. This will definitely ease the congestion and provide room for riders to pass! Cant wait!
  10. Serious issues with entries. Over this race now.
  11. +1. If you like cycling, "inspiration" to go ride shouldn't be an issue. If you're a roadie then I would understand a lack of inspiration...
  12. Ja its quite unfair blaming the carrier for being illegal. Its only your common sense that got you that fine. If you have a legal drivers licence, this should be obvious...
  13. Silverback Storm 1 is a carbon 29er with full XT groupset, Rock Shox Sid RL and ZTR Crest rims and hubs. Also SLK carbon seatpost, stem and handlebar. According to the review in March edition of Tread magazine in retails for R 24999. I would say thats a good buy as well adding to MintSauce's post.
  14. I grew up in Bethlehem 50km away and I can tell you that camping in May would require defrosting yourself in the morning... Rather avoid camping if you can.
  15. Not having to ride with tubes obviously...
