  1. we normally dont discriminate against what type of bicycles people ride in our group, but the Scott riders does seem to be slower in general. besides, dont they make Motorcross goggles? they have no business multi-franchising to increase their profits. same concept as KTM. Dont understand it. That aside, we will welcome u anytime. just be prepared to train hard and do the "early morning, late night" thing. we do rides in the morning from 8:00 till 8:30 and then again a Spin class from 18:00 - 18:30. be prepared, it wont be easy. there is little time left so gota work hard. send me a private message to get in touch.
  2. now that's just plain silly. why would i want to train with a unicycle. the DC is a two wheeled bicycle race incase u didnt know. your'e not much help u know.
  3. nope. not me, must be a different Graveldonkey. by the way. thats ridiculous. who would do something that ridiculous. we all know the Ellesworth is not nearly worth as much as the Cortina, let alone the Caravan.
  4. for those of you that havent noticed, im dead serious. im also still not convinced about the Dates. my team captain has just assured me it is on the 27th of December. so i dont see the humour in it. i have however contacted PPA regarding the Killarney evenings. the guy was very friendly and seemed very happy about my inquiries. he has advised me to first start with the Easyer Wednesday group riders. apparently they focus on core strenght and base level fitness. is this true? what would you guys recomend?
  5. oh, before i forget. The training at killarney: is it on the short Go-kart circuit or on the maincircuit. and if it is on the maincircuit, do they give the cyclist right of way over the race cars? im a very nervous cyclist.
  6. I cant open the site, its blocked for some reason on my work PC. its not a porn related site is it? My whole team has started prepping this week in order to raise the fitness level in the team evenly. Some guys told me to start interval training with the PPA guys at Killarney on Tuesdays, but i dont think im ready for it yet. sounds quite hectic. any thoughts on that?
  7. i think you guys have it wrong. my calendar clearly states 27/12/2010. so be serious now. i was thinking about starting with a long and slow ride. about 80km to begin with this weekend. should i train on hills? or stay on the flats where im most comfartable. also, is the new bike going to give me that competitive advantage im looking for. previously i used to own a Aluminium bike.
  8. Hey all, My entry is done and accomodation is paid for, now all that is left is starting with my Training for the DC seeing that its just over a month from now. what good training tips do you suggest? i just purchased a new Giant TCR for the race and i have to get used to the position, is a month enough time?
  9. actually, it makes me want to fix my bike...................................... and maybe get a Tattoo. Graveldonkey2010-05-13 09:25:28
  10. This always makes me want to ride.
  11. You guys should take up golf. There is nothing better than feeling the strong south easter blowing in my face and the next moment i get a snot rocket sprayed over me. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm salty.......
  12. Bump There can be only one Gel...........
  13. have you had a look at your position (Technique) shoulders back, chest out? Mayube ur doing it wrong.
  14. i clearly missed the discussion of the year. pitty. im selling my 26er anyhow. i dont want to be the last guy at the party going through the leftovers.
  15. Lets hear the scientific angle then. That is the reason for my post.
  16. The steering feels lighter, they handle phenominal around high speed sweeps and they dont feel any of the small obstacles that would normally through u around on a 26er. Are there any road (slicks) available for these bikes on the market?
  17. To all the MTB funatics out there, I recently rode a 29er for the first time at the Ride b4 you buy in tokai. (afterwards i am seriously considering buying one) I was amazed at the smoothness and amazing handling this bike had over a fairly ruff terrain. the question for all who knows better than me out there is........ will 29ers be the way for the future? It would sux if they would fade away after a few years and tyres/slicks (other parts) are not available anymore. Is the rolling resistance more or less on a 29er (felt to me like it rolled better than a 26er) Is it a sales Gimmick???
  18. In the wise words oh Homer Simpson. DOH!!!!!!!
