  1. This post comes at the perfect time. I've been wanting to cancel dstv but the only reason for keeping it is Supersport. Not keen on pirate sights so wondered what alternatives there are for cycling and rugby. Have netflix so movies and series sorted. Feels like I'm throwing money away with dstv just just for supersport
  2. Have you been using it for a while? Same thing happened to me with garmin strap and edge520. Heard somewhere about salt build up from sweat being an issue. Gave the strap a good wash and it's worked for 3 rides now. Not sure if its the main issue but it's working for now. Funny cause I never had this issue with my wahoo strap
  3. i think i know this dude as well.....saw him picking up stompies. even seen him 'gardening' on the side of the road too and once or twice sleeping under the bridge going down to newlands. as mentioned he's not altogether okay up there but i agree with you.....he seemed 'harmless' and weak so never saw him as a threat. can't picture that dude being fast as well (but i've been dropped many times by folks who didnt look fast) i commute to and from UCT daily so thanks for the heads-up. lots of security around but it's an open campus so we always need to be on the lookout.
  4. Lol, got the same mail.seems the bar has dropped...."paid up" members seems to be in on this exclusive offer ????
  5. Sorry to hear. Strength and peace to you and your family mate..prayers are with you all
  6. Can't help but notice that spez was thoughtful enough to comment on this thread (one liner but at least something) but CD has not even bothered. Not even a bland..."the matter is currently under advisement" Perhaps they have been advised not to comment.....to me, it's seems as if they are not at all concerned about what perceptions their clients or potential clients might have. All of what we heard is one sided. They don't seem to care. Unless of course the one side is true and they have no additional context to add?
  7. i was going to say this but you beat me to it... the okes botched up a perfectly fine bike. Good of spez to try and mediate i think
  8. Agree with your sentiment in principle OP but the fight will be costly and time consuming and you may end up with nothing. Perhaps take the offer and help others avoid making the same mistake...give them a bad rating or tell your friends in the previous province or something. this may hurt the negligent lbs more. I had a similar less costly experience. Never went back and told my friends about experience.
  9. thanks - now that i recall i was using both at the time so you are spot on.
  10. thanks - so there seems to be some workaround options i could try for the 2 workouts not recorded on the device. going forward probably easier to continue recording on both the device and zwift which is a duplication but it is what it is i suppose.......the things we do for vitality points!
  11. apologies for reviving this thread but quick question (next step will be to contact discovery vitality). sometime ago -probably about 2 months ago- i noticed that i received points for a zwift workout. i was surprised as i didnt even think that this would, but then i figured its because my zwift account is connected to Garmin connect and Garmin to discovery app. this week i didn't turn on my garmin device for the past 2 zwift workouts (didnt have device with me) but thought nothing of it as i thought it will be uploaded from zwift to garmin connect to discovery app as it did before. unfortunately it didnt work this time though. a quick google search back to 2018 seems to suggest that your activity must be recorded on a garmin device and then uploaded to garmin connect (which seems like BS to me as i'm still going through garmin connect just not through my device but through zwift). Was my previous experience a glitch? Or do others use the zwift to garmin connect route for points?

yep, so true.....see them all the time. 'snakes in suits' - scary thing is many are high flyers and come across as likable when they need to be if it helps them achieve their own goals....but....they do things to get to the top that most 'normal folks' will consider unethical. many of them sleep okay at night where many of us ordinary folks would go crazy with guilt! but they say karma is a b**%tch.....what goes around
  13. Was at the park on Monday and spoke to some kids there....said park might open in December but not guaranteed....lekker place....sad to see it all closed up
  14. Wow, thanks for detailed reply grease monkey. You okes are kwaai lol...best getting advice from objective okes who actually use the stuff. I'm gonna go with ardent 2.4 in exo casing as you suggest for now and perharps get dhr2 for more aggressive stuff down the line. Not doing any really aggressive routes at the moment.
