  1. Why not give them a call?
  2. Yep, I do the same. A PVC pipe pushed tightly into the cap hole of a big Stans bottle works too.
  3. So, on a bike frame than can take 2x10 or 1x12, the advantage is a longer lasting drive train? But at a much higher cost?
  4. I'm using Spez 2F0 flat shoes. Only had them about 6 months, but they are holding up very well. They still look new - just minor wear on the soles where the pins bite in. I'm sure they'll last me 2 years, riding 2 or 3 times a week.

  6. I'm running 29 x 2.35 Nobby Nics on Wide Lighting rims (29mm ID) front and back. Previously I had a Rocket Ron 2.25 on the back, and it had a significantly lower volume.
  7. The "updated" 2019 JSL 20 is pretty much exactly the same as the 2018 model (just 7 speed, as opposed to 6 speed). 2019 is actually slightly heavier, but just ~250g). Momsen seem to be the only easily available light kids bikes @ about 8.5kg (using rigid fork) compared to the rest of the market which are about 10.5kg (but with front suspension).

  9. It does look amazing! Its on my to-do-list in the next few weeks. I really need the practice, to give me more confidence to try the A-line options on the trails!
  10. Why not use a split pin, with a small washer on the end and a thin piece of tubing over it, to protect the threads? Or even a bit of insulation tape should work? If you buy a new set of pads (maybe from your LBS) then you'll get a new retaining bolt...
  11. Cool, thanks. I'll give it a go. Will Definitely but the new one on the front The one's I have are 29 x 2.35 EVO Snakeskin PaceStar. It has held up well on the front, but we'll see how it goes as a rear My other thought was to buy an Ardent Race or something like that...
  12. My Rocket Ron rear tire died on Saturday - porcupine quill I have a Nobby Nic on the front... and I have another new Nobby Nic on the shelf, which I could fit to the rear. Any idea how much worse the rolling resistance would be with the Nobby Nic on the rear?
  13. I see... What tires were on your Trance 27.5 bikes? And on the Spark now? Just wondering if the rolling resistance is playing a large part? The Trance being discussed here is the 29er now.
  14. Almost all reviews of the Trance 29 are very positive. This is the only review that I found that isn't overwhelmingly positive, just okay... https://enduro-mtb.com/en/giant-trance-advanced-pro-29-1-review/
  15. Cool, that sounds positive The old compound was horrible IMHO. My previous set of Racing Ralphs also had severe weeping of sealant. I wish they did something like the Rocket Ron in a 2.35...
  16. I have the previous Rocket Ron, and won't be buying them again. I only do weekend rides, so relatively low km, and after a year, the tire looks terrible, weeping sealant all over. The Nobby Nic on the front is still going strong
  17. Awesome... Would love to upgrade my Anthem 29er to one of those! Hope there are some used ones on the market in a year or two!
  18. Yes, please... Haven't seen many around....
  19. I bought a Lyne (external) - Will fit it this weekend. I compared the Rapide (R2099) and Lyne (R2499), which seem identical, but I think there are some internal differences, because the service kits aren't the same. The number of brass keys is different. I'm sure they'll both be good though.
  20. My son had this bike and LOVED it. Excellent quality. Really light weight. Pneumatic tires (very important for grip!) The cheaper balance bikes have foam tires. Even after he was on a pedal bike, he still hops on it for fun. Our daughter will be using it next. Got great service from the local supplier (below). http://www.like2bike.co.za/balance-bikes.html Kokua Hardy - Price was under R2k a few years ago...
