  1. Ahhh nooooo.... In a way im bummbed about UA not happening, but at the same time, i think its cool that Signals will stay "secret"... It is an awesome after work ride... and will be developed to greatness! if only a little slowly..
  2. At the end of the day it's not the bike you chose to ride hills with, it's your attitude to go as fast and with as much fun as possible down those hills that matters! Bike tech changes all the time, if you want to ride downhills, find a bike that fits your budget, that is your size and make the most of it. If you were sponsored and racing and so good you couldnt get any better, and every gram, and split second counted then you need a bike that can win by one thousandth of a second... For every one else, i think we are just happy to get to the bottom! and walk back up again!!
  3. Where can i find more info, i wanna start, busy building my bike up, and would really dig to watch!
  4. You are looking for a BB mount Bash Guard! Doesnt look like you have the mounts for a bolt on...
  5. I used to get my climbing **** from them, but they're a little expensive.. But i dont know of anywhere else you could get the 510s from.
  6. City rock Observatory has some About R1050 dunno which ones tho dude? Get hold of them!
  7. na, not riding.... Went climbing(mountain climbing) the exact opposite of DH! haha. anyway, im totally broken!
  8. my bad. 661 15% lol... its been a long day!
  9. whoa, no one uses 661 helmets? Or am I missing something?
  10. o guys *** funny vid on youtube, about a road biker who becomes a DHer! Also see the other vid where he hates the fixie kids.
  11. Oh cap, I have patience! Looking forward to getting them on! Luckily my cranks come off super easily. Almost too easily.... Any way my DIY Chain Device DOES NOT WORK! My chain still comes off.. almost every run. The worst is you only notice when you try to peddle... ouch!
  12. didnt get out today... been working working working! Will try tomo or thursday, weather permitting! When i last went it was wet- and gnarly! Couldnt beleive how much harder it was, even just to stay on the straights! felt like i was drifting as i hit roots rock and mud. all good tho! If you get there by 1730, its possible to get 2/3 runs in b4 dark!
  13. Yo Cap! Im gonna be putting some time and energy on getting my offshoot gap done. With the relink into SH2!! Watch this trail!
  14. Cap Im really bumbed about the tools! man! ku*ts! Track is really coming along all the berm were solid, felt really confident in them today, even in the wet! Ski jump is cool! Its my fav on the whole course.
  15. **** dude i have a bad feeling about your tools! When i looked for them the other day i presumed you had moved them! Bad thing is i saw a black bag floating around at the bottom of SH3.... Sometimes you just gotta hate the state of the nation.... I guess we should do a team effort and all chip in for some new tools. Well i guess me and Mikes! What went missing? On a lighter note, Had a run at signals too this afternoon, hoped to meet you there! but got there at 530 only and managed to put in 2 runs! Your work looks sweet, nice to see the berms looking really really great! good work! I saw what you did by the rock garden! Mikes saw a potential line leading to that section left of the rockgarden, straight after the little drop. Cleaned it up gave it a go pretty slow bit could work! I so badly want to do that gap!!!
  16. Arrr its raining! Hope it clears!
  17. whats the usual place? behind the berm that i built and the wooden drop you built? thanks!
  18. oh the route on SH1 was pretty much straight down, right above SH2. Nothing awesome, but the area will work.
  19. I dunno which mine are,,, theyre just solid red with white and red strap. pretty understated. but cool! I never met the rep.. hehe. Mi girlfriend got them for me as a suprise. Your right bout the slope lines there. so the trail would snake slightly differently along SH2 more like this i guess, the trail going left(as you look at it) would be flatter and slower, and the ones going right would be faster with bigger berms. I guess we will have to really plan it onsite. Also what will be cool is we can utilize the Ditch that runs down parallel to current SH2, The one i built the gap on. we could do step ups, drop offs, gaps and berms along that ditch (idealy). Have some turn ups on the faster sections too. Its gonna be raaad. Oh cap Where did you hide those tools? I searched high and low and couldnt find them anywhere.. Ended up clearing track with sticks! Ill try bring a Hoe/rake on saterday.
  20. I actually parked on the road, above "SH1" and did a little trial run down. Definitely potential for a line! I think the hardest thing with SHDH is the fact that there are so many trees everywhere, it makes it hard to visualize where to build. I know the Google earth image isnt very recent, but what i did there was try and find an obvious route between the trees.... Im really keen to have a bit of a build session on sat. Maybe plan an entire "CLASSIC" trail top to bottom. mark it out, and slowly develop it! Dude its untouched powder, (if we were snowboarders) up there, and potential for a classic is just up to us, time, and luck! I think we just need to visualize the route, find some natural features and build it!! I actually walked quite a large chunk below where SH2b is and there are some open areas, with drops, banks and gaps! I think if we are both there we can make some collaborative decisions and get on it! On another note, my darling girlfriend got me the Von Zipper Sizzle MX for my Bday! yay! Pretty stoked, fogs up very minimaly.. only when im standing still. stoked, and it fits my face and helmet perfectly! Aweh!
  21. Future SHDH Trail: Can only dream!
  22. yeah but all those trees are Alien. So were actually helping... Its difficult tho cos theres some really cool things going on the straight, that i enjoy riding, and to cause it to snake down (i know will be cool) but you will miss whats currently there.... My biggest problem is that it goes by to damn quickly! I try put in 3 runs with a little building & thinking of new lines a session but walking back up totally kills me! Its more tiring than Tokai simply cos its a straight up the face climb.. Ahh well! I think signals gets a little bet better every day! And eventually it will be a rocking A-grade trail!
  23. Found some interesting and useful stuff for DH trail building. Definately need to get some lines down SHDH that run diagonally across the hill, as opposed to straight down! I fear that by next summer we will just have a 10 foot deep rut to ride. haha.. Anyway, cap i thought youd enjoy the link! Fifteen Tips For Trail Building
  24. Cool. Im gonna try come Saturday too! My GF wants to do some redecorating at home and needs my help... so ill see. Rock garden needs to biggger im sure.. I had a look for more rocks, pretty scarce at that point of the trail. Did Find one or two extra rocks nearby. watch out for scorpions though! they like to hide under them... The off shoot after the rock garden is so doable. the line would be hit the rockgarden on the left, go diagonally across to the right almost off track, then swoop left into the turn-off, you have to keep ya speed up to make the gap. ive tried it, but havent comitted to it!!!! it scary! Keep thinking ill land with my back wheel in the ditch and implode my lower regions into the headset...OUCH. Will put a berm up to maintain speed into the gap for sure. The lower section of SH3 I think is ok. but i found a nicer line could be made diagonaly through the forest on the right of the tree trunks jumps and rock piles... where some table tops and cool flowy jumps could be built... Future plans... ahhhh.
  25. cap im sure ill be able to grab it from you and fit it myself! I dont think ill have a problem. My buddy Mikes is organising something with you and me soon so I can grab it form you then, Or this saterday, but thinking it might be more fun to spend the day at tokai...
