  1. looks like adverts are loading, so it seems ALL images stored on the server have either been deleted or for some reason arent getting referenced in the HTML code. Very weird. I thought it might of been Ad Block Plus getting in the way. Unfortunately not. Hope it gets sorted soon.
  2. i think the best way to wash it would be a sponge and some foamy/sunlight water. Make the water really foamy and only use the foam, get it on the sponge and give the linsides a good scrubbing, then wipe it off and let it dry in the shade. I only know this cos thats how your supposed to was carpets, so that they dont get saturated and stinky.... I know that cos I have a naughty dog!
  3. no, i said CWC. not CRC!!! Its on the site locally. R999!
  4. CWC also has some FFs. 661 at the same price!
  5. Thanks Cap! I totally belieive that theres no reason for 9-10 spd DH bikes. Its overkill. I hardly ever use more than 2 usually 11t and 13t and never change while riding. That bike looks soooo sweet!
  6. \We hit Paarl Taal again this weekend, Worked mostly on the Playground/Utah Track. Was awesome, more of a freeride course compared to Late Harvest. A friend was riding a XC bike and clipped in, he found both routes tough, but said the latter was better for xc bikes. Also said that he learnt really fast about clipping in and out!! which is a good lesson for any XCer. Just remember to lower your seat post, and bring an extra tube! He had a rear tire blow out 20m into his 1st run down Late harvest. Xcers can do some uphill training on the jeep tracks up and down..
  7. cap i have no idea.. will try find out..
  8. I think this was last summer. There have been a few changes due to the Paarl race 2 weeks ago.
  9. Cool! Good idea! Its now also on the Trails and routes section. If Any one has any other Paarl DH/FR trails please reply to that thread, stating name, and location if possible.
  10. Heres a clip of The entire section of the "Late Harvest" DH trail in paarl. Rider: Zeno Graziani http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO1qKNt6AJ8 Note he doesnt do the BIG Double (takes the chicken run at the blues sign) and there is a newly built- Massive double as you get onto the wide jeep track b4 the last 2 berms. Please feel free to add any other Paarl DH/FR Specific footage or info here!
  11. YO yo Late Harvest Run at Paarl. Its not me. I dont do any of the jumps, and am 30 seconds slower...
  12. CAP: Cant make it sunday... family lunch - Roast yum!!.. arrggg... Will make a plan!! Stryder, Thanks that wall is pretty fun! Both mikes and myself were getting pretty high. started off being really low, and then got a good line, a little confident and you can get right up it.
  13. Miike Snow - animal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oyy7KUHAbA and the cover by Sky Farrera which is super rad!!
  14. I was heavily involved in kitesurfing and at the end of the season the old stock would sell for below cost... It seems like this doesnt happen in cycling. Another thing that this doesnt happen in is the iphone. Here I think there is a definitive control on it market price. When the 3g was out it sold for x, then the 3gs came out, it still went for x but the 3gs was now 2x, and the same will happen with the iphone4. I think that goes to show that if the old prices dont decrease after a new model is out, there could be some sort of price "manipulation" involved.. Just my 2cents
  15. Cap that would be awesome! what LBS is it at? Will you be coming to paarl on the weekend Prob Saterday? I think its gonna be rad rad!!
  16. And some more!!
  17. Mongoose Dh Series Paarl More description, photos and times.
  18. CAP: Playground makes sense! The pic of me is the wall ride in that area. So fun there, we rode that area messing around for quite a while Regarding the Race track: It really is the best DH trail ive ridden. (and i took every chicken run available!! Next time!!!) Starts off a little flat, but there are some new berms and drops to keep it flowing. Its quite nice although a little slow, but it feels tech enough to not be boring, like little jumps straight into berms... Then it gets a bit faster, with some step down/ rock gardens, a little gap jump into a steep technical dip then a scary-ish rock garden... Then it starts to get faster.. and opens up a bit.. theres a road gap and some drops into berms, some solid berms and some heavily washed out ones. The track splits, for a chicken run.. left is a large double and right is a table top then a single which is also the landing for the double, then a few more berms, into a section where theres a few lines or options over some jumps, here theres a Maaaaassiiive double! Its only about 1m high, but covers about 5m till the down section. and could be really really sore if you dont have enough speed to clear it!! i think it then goes into 2 really nice big berms, which are really solid and big which makes it easy to rail at high speed. Over Finish.
  19. SWEET! I checed the times, i would of placed 2nd last!! haha my last and only timed run was about 3minutes. Well amazing that the pro's were double as fast! INSANE never the less super super fun!!
  20. WOW! Guys Paar Rocks! haha pun intended! Mikes and I went through on saterday! Its the best DH track Ive ridden. Its got a bit of everything! I really only did the "race route" and also messed around in the top section of the other route, we called that section "Utah" Its dry and very free-ride style! So So SO awesome! Will be going back soon Ther were 2 rippers about 15/16 really busting large! was good to watch! Heres a pick mike took of me with his phone! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs309.ash2/58949_478036345258_537090258_7239898_4402528_n.jpg
  21. hey cap i still really badly want to get that guide from you!! one day 'ay! Is it finally off your other ride? I hate the fact that i pretty much have to be "careful" on what lines i take, else my chain pops off like a condom on a donkey! haha, sorry i have to laugh at that! Question: How often do yall shift when going DH? I pretty much choose my gear at the top and stick to it the whole way down. and generally its the smallest in the rear. So was thinking, how necessary is it to run gears, why not just charge single speed? think of the savings in aerodynamics(wink), less cables, simpler bike, more intuitive, less brake downs... reminds me of when i used to do BMX, never serviced that bike treated it like ****, bombed massive stair sets, and just rode. It never died... simple. Even did tokai once on my BMX just after sunset... that was insane!
  22. Im done! Cap you gonna join us? We leaving at 0930 tomo morn. Is there a place nearby the monument we can get decent munchies? or should we rather bring our own? Stryder, thanks for the info! Always nice to have some pre-ride beta! Amped!
  23. IM gonna drop a 20" bmx wheel on the rear. that will get me so low It'll make blowing up berms obligatory!! Haa haaa .. hah ha. err ahem. Any other info on the Late harvest track? what to look out for, whats cool, alternate lines?
  24. yo cap! sick sick pics you found!! wish i could gnar berms like that! Juuusuus!! Heres an idea for lower BB, chuck a 24" wheel on the back side, im pretty sure that would be super sweet!!! make for an ultra slack HT but thats all the rage these days too! Any one got a disk spec 24" wheel the want to sponsor me? hehe!!
  25. that drop is huuuuuheeegggee! Fu*ck me!! MAn i havent been down to SH in a while... Been buuzzee like a bee in spring! I havent been beack since i built the path to the right and across to the gap... Cap: Basically i just dont go as fast as normal. LIke with any corner you need to brake to take it, youll have to brake to make it...hehe. I havent been out cos i need to urgently repair my DU bushing... Right now its all clunk clunk clunk, and alot of side flex. Actually feels like im riding with a flat back tire when i corner... Plus Ive just acquired MY summer fitness machine; a 2006 Track Frame which sucked alot of my money... oh well!
