  1. Probably one of the best organised and well maintained routes and events around. Reminds me of a local version of the Eselfontein race. Amazing scenery and lekker singletrack. Definitely a must try!
  2. Yes, as I understand it the first incident, the bikejacking, was as you finish with Mongoose and go down that bit towards the Hazendal Manor house (there was a wire across the road a bit back also - maybe connected??) The second one as I understand it, is when you get to the top (the very top, not where you turn left to join the red) of Kaapzicht killer and can go right back to Zevenwacht or left towards the long green and the steep climb towards the signal tower
  3. Ag nee man, daar van alle plekke. Voel altyd so veilig daar. Hoop hulle is OK! Enige kommentaar van die Bottelary HIlls conservancy??
  4. Always liked these bikes... Now even more!! Awesome stuff
  5. Ive been a member of Bottelary Hills for 3 years now and I must say those guys are awesome. Constant upgrades and maintenance. I pay my membership with a smile! Also, it helps that I live 5km from Zevenwacht entry point :-)
  6. To me membership has a different meaning to day pass, will gladly pay day pass
  7. Haha, Im not from Somerset West. Joining up with friends who live there, so membership is out of the question. Maybe we'll just ride on the R44 on the shoulder or as close to the dravel next to the tar

  9. Hi Hubbers, Does anyone know of a legal, and safe route consisting of mostly dirtroads one can ride from Somerset West to Stellenbosch/Jonkers? Also, no illegal riding please. Do not want to get chased by a farmer in his bakkie. Thanx

  12. Did it 2 years ago, and last year. 2 years ago it was awesome!! Last year not so much. The route was drenched and had to be changed due to major parts of the route being washed away. As any mtb event, was still good fun, but cold, messy and damaging to the bikes. Luckily the Soetes and Sop was that weekend in Slanghoek. That is this weekend by the way!!
  13. Thanx for the tips! Will deffo get those. Ja , I know I wont be immune.I'll keep carrying my spare tubes and the works as well.

  17. So, I have always held out on doing the tubeless thing, telling myself its not worth it. I never actually had any major problems so I thought the +-R1500 odd is just too much to spend. Well this weekend changed my mind... Planned a nice 45/50km ride and in the first 12km's had 3 flats. I was gatvol and turned back. Probably doing the conversion this week.
  18. Hi ouens, Ek het die naweek my eerste Xterra gedoen en ek dink die gogga het gebyt. Enige idees waar mens swem kan oefen? Ek behoort nie aan n gym nie.
  19. No man, I use this road very often. Road and MTB. Links to the bottelary hills :-(
