  1. I've been hearing a lot about The Spruit and after seeing that "Where we ride" video, it's now a definite "must do" ride very soon. 1st Up, where to start from, in other words where can I safely park the car? At the Trailhead shop (as in the video) ? If I start there how far to go? What is key distance indicators etc for (let's say a 20 - 30km ride)? Best time of day to ride ? Any other pointers... I'm fairly experienced but my mates is just starting out So I will go with them
  2. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/logo_zps61c72476.jpg Hi guys As many of you know I've been working furiously with a couple of partners to get our new shop open a quickly as possible. Our shop prides itself on having the focus on the repairing and maintenance of bicycles. This can be seen in the open plan nature of the workshop with wheelbuilding happening right on the counter. You can only do this by having one of the best mechanics around, Jason Geldenhuys, a full partner in the business. The shop is located across the road from Fratelli right on the Spruit. The rain has delayed the completion of our walkway but we are taking orders for servicing from today. Tel 011 326 1688 It looked like this yesterday afternoon but will look very different by tomorrow. You will be able to walk directly in from the Fratelli parking side in a couple of days. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141118_163408_zpshtgwru7f.jpg My Pyga getting some love http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141117_093846_zpsqlwxgwcq.jpg It wasn't the wheel http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141117_094235_zpscefdmhee.jpg http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141118_085849_zpsbjemjbo2.jpg Someone having an old 5.5 built up http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141117_094224_zpsftd7kxut.jpg http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141117_094303_zpskqx6uwli.jpg Still a little bare... http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20141114_164027_zpstdmx7ktv.jpg Just pop in and say howzit. 3. Yesterday we rode the new delta Park tree line which has been extended to run all the way from Standard drive down to the river. It was just TOOO cool! I don't know of another free, public trail that could match the amount of fun you can have on this. It even beats most private trails, and there's LOADS more to come. A huge shout out to Jozi Trails for the hard work that's gone into making this as rad as it is! Here's a highlights video of our ride too, if you're interested.
  4. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on The Spruit and ride everyday? Hey, maybe even twice a day! Well, wonder no more... my spacious one bed flat is the answer to your dreams! Situated less than 200m from The Spruit, this beautiful, newly renovated one bed flat can be yours for just R8000 a month excl electricity! It's secure too, with underground parking, CCTV and Kenneth the kick-ass security guard patrolling all night! There's even a pool, a braai area and a great place to wash your bike! But don't take my word for it, cam and take a look. Click the link for pics - https://photos.app.goo.gl/bMeFA5KyBZTFtmnFA Call or whats app me on 071 212 6296 Don't miss out, call today! 7. A short video showing the fun side of the Braamfontein Spruit and why we ride it. Probably the most debated public area in South Africa. Open to the public and used by families, runners, dogs and cyclists it can get quite busy at times with tensions running high. We are all very lucky to have such an awesome trail/park in the middle of JHB. Great singletrack through the heart of (Jozi) Johannesburg. Thanks to my friends for helping film and make the video, to the Spruit Fairies for maintaining the trails & to Majozi for the use of his song. 8. Hi guys, my dad lost his Bryton speed/cadence sensor somewhere along the Spruit this past weekend (emmarentia to delta) It's black and is quite a big sensor, the one that sits on the bar next to the wheel. If anyone found/finds it please contact me. They're expensive to replace.. Thanks smile emoticon
