  2. I have a small issue which I would like some help from those that are in the know on the hub. I have two sets of wheels, one Novatec sprint (2012) and one Giant PR2 (Standard on a giant TCR 2(2012). They both have shimano 28-11 cassettes on. one is 105 and the other is Ultegra. When I switch between the two I have to either tighten the tension or loosen the rear mech depending on which wheel I have changed from. I am a little confused as for the need to adjust the mech, I dont touch the limits only the barrel. Is it in my mind or is there a difference on the free hubs? Thanks in advance. (I have attached a picture of the Novatec rims in question, because I think all threads need pictures )
  3. Hi. Out of desperation, I recently had to replace my 11 speed DI2 Dura Ace inner derailleur cage, and due to lack of parts in SA as I believe Shimano no longer supports 11 speed, I had an oversized pulley cage retrofitted. It looks very nice, I must say and there's no problem with shifting, however I noticed a distinct difficulty in climbing. (I ran out of gears), which wasn't previously a problem. I'd like to know if a larger pulley wheel would have an effect on gear ratio, and if so is there a fix for this? Do I now need to replace my cassette and chain as well? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi,Im maxelo Baloyi,a beginner cyclist who’s 15 and a student at the local Louis Trichardt high school in Limpopo looking for donations in spare parts to help with performance and the coming schools MTB races along with other MTB events in a month. I’ve got a second hand ,entry level size S .Scott Contessa Scale 710(2015 model) bought from a local.I’m looking for help in possibly replacing the worn out cassette, chain and possibly replace other dead beat parts which were over ridden by the last owner. Any donations or help would be greatly appreciated as my family has to stick to their budget and can’t afford to break the bank currently
  5. I've had excellent results from my previous Sram drivetrains. My last moutainbike cassette did over 10000km, without slipping at all, when I used 3 GX chains rotated religiously between 700 and 800 km. My current gravel bike Red chain is at 13500km and cassette is at 14400 km with zero slipping, but I let the chain run just to .5 at about 11000 km and found that the cassette wouldn't take another chain, so Im just running it out. My current Epic started slipping only when under heavy load only in the 3rd smallest gear at about 2500km. By that age it had an xx1 chain that had done 1600km. I checked everything. Nothing was out of adjustment so I put up with it to just over 5000km. And then I annoyingly replaced the cassette and xx1 chain and chainring. It's now done under 1500km and is slipping again on the same gear!!! I checked everything, but this time took it to my local bike shop, where a lifelong bike mechanic checked it all, replaced the jockey pulleys and gave it a tweak. Its was fine for a while, but is slipping again. Im finding it hard to understand it is giving problems so quickly when the others have been treated exactly the same.
