  1. I friend of mine told me about On-cloud running shoes which I've never heard of before, maybe because I live under a rock or it's because I hate running. But anyways, to make a long story short, I was curious so I asked to give me a link and I will have a look. So I had a look at the link https://tifosisports.co.za Tifosi Sports is the official importer/distributor in SA and you are right, the shoes are pretty expensive, and they do not give any discounts. If you've been here long enough, you'd know the next best thing people do is to do a search on the web and see who else sells it and perhaps you can pick up a bargain or two. You guessed it, there are some websites selling it for less than half the price! Then I was thinking, this sounds too good to be true! After further investigations, etc, etc....All scams, some looking VERY legit, and others selling cheap chineez look-alikes! So be warned people. Another thing I picked up are the courier companies.... There must be a syndicate at work here as well. When you order something online, the supplier uses a curier company to collect and deliver. There are workers/agents/drivers in these companies that now go and pick up your parcel for delivery. They have all your details e.g. name, address, phone number. You get a sms from a +27 08708... number: Due to the wrong delivery address of your package, the delivery of the package has been suspended, please update it in time: https://s.id/Postoza You put in your address, then submit. After you submit you then need to provide your credit card details as it was delivered to the "incorrect" address in case they need to charge you for it. Edit: BTW, the https://s.id/Postoza was a dead give away, but I had a peek as i was curious.
  2. Dear hubbers and moderators/admin team I have two questions regarding Oakleys, AliExpress, and the T's & C's of the classifieds. 1. I have 2 pairs of "Oakley Radarlocks" that I bought from AliExpress a while back. Went through the hassles of finding a good looking pair, waiting forever, dealing with imports, and paid about R600. In the meantime I have purchased some other cycling eyewear, so I'm not using these anymore, so I thought I'll sell them off for a small amount. May I sell them here? I will of course not list them as Oakleys, I'll say something like "cycling glasses", I'll state that I bought them from AliE, and I though of asking like R300. I.e. not claiming they're real or asking a real price. (I did go and check up on the T's and C's, so I'm aware of these 2 clauses below. Just wondering where this case fits in : No counterfeit or otherwise illegal product may be listed for sale. Any such adverts will be removed and the advertiser's account suspended. Any parallel import product (grey import) advertised, whether new or used, must be declared as such by means of a clear notice on the advert describing the nature of the goods and any impact on warranties or local product support. This is in accordance with requirements set out by the Department of Trade and Industry.) 2. I also have a 100% legit Oakley Radar, with 2 original legit lenses, that I also want to sell. Ok so this is no problem. But then I also have another 4 AliE lenses for this Radar, that I got from a friend. Can I sell these lenses with the glasses or will this also be a problem? (I'll obviously also state that the extra 4 lenses are not originals). Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for your answers. I came here to ask and make sure, before posting the ads and having my account blocked or something haha. Cheers!
  3. Specialized Bicycle Components looks to improve rider safety and eliminate counterfeit products available for consumer purchase. As the Internet shopping realm continues to grow, so does the opportunity for low-cost, counterfeit products. Although the low-cost purchase opportunities may sound like a bargain up front, purchasing a product that isn't tested to industry standards is not worth the risk. Click here to view the article
  4. Hello guys I found this website called www.roombike.com which seems pretty legal. I'm afraid of just giving my money away if I buy from this source and basically being fooled by it. I looked for reviews but nothing came up!! I would appreciate any comments. Thank you guys and enjoy the ride!
  5. This company claims to be in the North West, taking fraudulent online orders. If its too good to be true, it is. www.explicittradings.com Be careful
  6. Hi Hubbers, Over the last few years, there has been a surge in the sale of fake cycling products online. It's something we've quietly been stamping out as fake items in the Classifieds are spotted or reported. In light of recent discussion on the issue and a noted increase in the presence of fakes we're taking a harder line on the issue in an effort to discourage the advertisement of fake items on our platform and to raise awareness among would-be buyers. We recently instituted a zero-tolerance policy against anyone advertising counterfeit items. Regardless of whether this is disclosed in the advert or not. Bottom line: If it's a fake it's not welcome on Bike Hub Classifieds. Anyone posting a fake item whether this is disclosed or not will have their account permanently suspended and their details will be handed over to the relevant local agencies. What is regarded as a fake? A fake or counterfeit product is any product which illegally bears a brand name / registered trademark. In other words, if the product bears a registered trademark and was not produced by- or on behalf of the original manufacturer it is counterfeit. In cycling terms, common fakes can include but are not limited to bicycle frames, wheels, components, clothing, eyewear. What about replicas? Please note the distinction between a "fake" and a "replica" product: - A replica is a licensed, legal product and most often produced by the same manufacturer or a licenced manufacturer. Typically you'll find team edition bikes and team clothing is referred to as a "replica". - A fake is an unlicensed copy and is ILLEGAL The term "replica" is often incorrectly used to describe clothing which is actually counterfeit. Price is usually a good indicator. If it's well below standard retail prices of the real thing it's likely a fake. What about blank/custom branded carbon frames, wheels and components? There are many unbranded and custom branded products available, many of which are perfectly legal so-called "open mold" frames. As a broad guideline, if it does not illegally bear a registered trademark or mimic a particular frame design it is unlikely to be regarded as a fake. I.e. If it is trying to be something it is not then your alarm bells should go off. We've got some pretty eagle-eyed members who spot fakes a mile off and usually the price is a dead give away. If you spot or suspect a fake please hit the report button so that we can investigate and take action if need be. If you have any questions comments or suggestions on the issue please feel free to get in touch with me: matt at bikehub.co.za Thanks, Matt Eagar Founder - Bike Hub
