  1. Hi I'm planning on visiting Cairns in Australia for a few weeks. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience hiring bicycles and/or riding trails in the Cairns area ? I spent a few weeks in Tenerife late last year, during which I hired two basic hard tails and cycled with my SO through the pine plantations. We alternated between MTB and diving on alternate days. It was awesome. I'm hoping to recreate that kind of experience in Australia. Any advice/ideas would be great. Thanks
  2. Planning a holiday to Portugal in April next year and a bit of research is showing that the cycling options might be quite cool. However I dont have R60 000 to spend on a cruise and bike trip down the Douro Valley, so wondering if anyone on the Hub might have any other bright ideas. We are open to mountain biking or road options, probably self-guided as this will be cheaper. Thanks.
  3. Does anyone Know of any good Riding Near or in ST LUCIA going on Holiday soon and want to know the best spots around or can you only ride in st lucia itself ?
  4. The Transkei Slowride is a five day fully catered mountain bike trail opening in March 2016, and can be ridden any time of the year. The 350 km route starts in the Drakensberg Mountains, near Naudes Nek (the highest road in South Africa) and descends through the grassy uplands of the Eastern Cape, through the spectacular Mzimvubu Valley to Port St Johns on the Wild Coast. The route takes riders through numerous unique landscapes in one of the most beautiful and rural parts of South Africa. Each day consists of 50-100 km of riding, with overnight camps in spectacular locations along the trail. The trail costs R7,500 per person and is fully catered (dinner, breakfast and a packed lunch) with accommodation provided. Bookings before January 2016 will receive a discounted rate of R5,000 per person. Check out www.slowridemtb.com or www.facebook.com/TranskeiSlowride

  6. Hopefully I'm not duplicating something already done. While completing my annual leave form (December holidays), for HR, it got me thinking about my ride plans for December. Considering I plan to be 1600Km away from my normal (sometimes boring) training routes, I thought it might be useful to know where other hubbers will be riding (not only for me, but for everyone planning on riding at their holiday destinations). I know there are the various threads already listing where group rides take place, but this can be one central place for the December holiday rides only (say 15-Dec to 05-Jan, give or take a few days). Kleinmond, WC, is my base for 2 weeks - so a few rides to GB/Somerset West, Hermanus, or at Oak Valley/Lebanon Forests are on my list. No skinny wheels for me this year, but I'm willing to join a road ride if there are any.
  7. Hi I am visiting family in Knysna from 23rd to 30 April 2014. I am a Cat A/B rider and hoping to find a mtb group/people to ride with while I am down there for some sightseeing, beautiful rides. Cheers L
