    Good day everyone, Hope you are all well and getting pumped for those holiday rides. I am going away to Ballots Bay (by George) and Noetzie (by Knysna) this December (2021), and I have planned a few possible routes to do on my gravel bike, but in terms of safety, I’m not sure about any of them. I will be cycling alone, unless anyone wants to meet up and join me (send me a DM and we can see if we can arrange something). Could anyone tell me what routes listed below are best, and if there are any other routes I could maybe look into.     Hey there, I'm thinking of cycling along the garden route next week, starting from Knysna to Port elizabeth. With the recent lockdown measures there has been much less traffic in cape town. Any knows if it's the same around those places? Thanks in advance !

    Logo and all, now we're talking! Coming to ride your MTB in the Garden Route? Not sure where all the cool trails are or how to get the most out of your ride? Sounds like you need Rent a Riding Buddy! (Super Hero costume still in the design phase) I have a 5 seater van and bike trailer that can accommodate 4 riders, bikes and luggage should you need to be collected from your accommodation or even the George airport. Let me know the type of riding and specific area you’re interested in and I’ll make sure you have the best bang for buck experience. My personal favourite is single track, the downer the better, but I enjoy all kinds of riding including a bit of gravel grinding. Along with post ride beer, coffee or G&T – SO fashionable right now I tell you. Services offered: Showing you the good stuff, including swimming holes on a hot day. Collection and drop off. Gravel riding - passes in the area or breakfast/sundowner cruise. LIGHT road riding – my gravel monster isn’t the fastest beast on the road. Frank discussion concerning not letting your bravado overtake your skill set... Skills Training – grownups or kids. Basic bike setup Advice on non-bike related tourist activities, unofficially. Pricing depends on services required as well as area. Let me know what you’d like to do with how many of your friends and I’ll work out an itinerary and cost.     When planning our trip to Knysna about 2 weeks after the devastating fires of June 2017, we struggled to find information about the trails after the fires. Even in the town, we found differing opinions on the conditions of the trails. We have now ridden some of the trails and, amazingly, most of the trails actually escaped damage. Here is what we found: Harkerville: The yellow, blue and green routes are rideable. The red route is closed but you can still get a decent ride in by combining the blue and green route. On the green route you do go through areas that are completely burnt out (but rideable) and even in the forests on the blue route we came across the odd burnt out tree. Areas near the coast are where the damage is. Homtini: After driving through complete burnt out moonscapes, the Homtini trail is is unscathed and sheer pleasure to ride. Well worth the drive out. Petrus Se Brand: Not ridden yet but apparently unscathed. Garden Route Trail Park: Still on the agenda but apparently unscathed. Not ridden, hopefully others can add for Kom Se Pad and Concordia Road (apparently rideable but lots of damage along the way)

He supports this childrens home and acts as its Ambassador.     Hi, I want to cycle from Cape Town to Knysna in 5 days, covering 120km a day roughly. Then run the 42km marathon, followed by a days rest and then return back to cape town via a different cycle route. 12 days all in. I'm practicsing now to ride long distances upwards of 100km. The agenda is as follows Depart Journey :Monday 4th July Knysna Arrival : Friday 8th July Marathon Saturday : 9th July Rest Sunday : 10th July Return Journey : Monday 11th July Cape Town Arrival : Friday 15 July Some questions how do you get from cape town to stellenbosch safely how do you get from strand to cape town safely road bike or gravel traveller (staying away from gravel) anyone done this yet? anyone doing something similar?I loosely following these tours as guides http://6wicks.co.za/tours/cape-town-2-knysna/ http://mytrainingday.com/pages/knysna-to-cape-town-cycle-tour-july-2016 any advice no matter how small would be appreciated from planning my rides to gps signal to staying over at homestays, b&b's etc, eating and riding, good coffee cheers

    The popular Gauteng-based off-road Run-Bike-Run Series, the Momentum Health OatWell DualX, powered by PeptoPro, has added a fifth event outside the province for 2016. The new DualX event will form part of the annual PnP Knysna Oyster Festival in the Western Cape, replacing the previous off road duathlon hosted during the Festival last year.
