  1. Hi all Just heard over the weekend and confirmed it this morning at the gate that the Jonkershoek permits are doubling up in price as of the 1st September 2015. One time entry: R50 Single annual: R500 Family annual: R700
  2. I have not seen anything else on the forums as yet. Koeberg is officially closed to riders without a permit as of the 16th July 2014. We popped in to do an easy ride yesterday Sunday 27th July. We were turned away at the gate and were told, we needed at least one of us to have a permit, in order to ride. Permits can be obtained during office ours Mon - Fri and they are free of charge. From a previous thread posted by Iwan Kemp "Go to ACP1 at Koeberg during office hours ( usually 7am - 5pm during the week). Take with you your ID Book and 1 x ID Photo and fill in the required forms. Wait one day to fetch your new Koeberg Nature Reserve Cycling Permit. For more info: (021) 5504021" There are often reason for not being able to ride in terms of maintenance/refuelling so its always best to phone prior to being disappointed at the gate. They also change their minds regularly so just get the permit and be done with it.
  3. Seems I lost my card at Tokai on sunday. Took the jeep track up to DH1. Then did all the DH tracks a couple times then my roots home. If anyone sees it please pm me. It would really save me the trouble of having to go and take 2 new id photos so I can get another card. Thanks Ashiq
  4. Hi everybody I'm looking to lengthen my commute some days from Sea Point to the city and go on the mtb via table mountain. Ideally i'm thinking of cycling thru clifton to camps bay and then climbing up to signal hill/lions head via kloof (unless there is an offroad trail?) and then up to table mountain to do part of the goat and entering the city via vredehoek. On the way home i was hoping to do the reverse with perhaps a way down into sea point thru a trail on lions head. Although i cant find this on any of the maps just the bo kaap trails. I can't make the newbie rides on the tablemountainbikers website so i was hoping to get some advice here. Firstly is it relatively safe? I'll be riding between 6am-7am / 6pm-7pm when its currently dark. I have a light but i'm more concerned about crime. I know there is always a risk but am what i doing high risk or medium/low risk as there'll be others on the route at this time. Does anyone else do this or a similar commute that i can join? Secondly i'm happy to get a permit. Seems to be a debatable issue on here and i'm guessing sanparks wont be policing at these times (or else i wouldn't have to worry about crime) but i'm happy to get one. I'm assuming its just a lvl 3 activity card? Lastly any tips about learning which way to go or anything i've missed? I was planning on doing a dry run this sunday mid morning with a printed map to find my way. thanks
