Yesterday morning 05:30am on my way to groenkloof chap on MTB with no lights , reflective whatever , cycling down old JHB road . Taxi in front of me missed him by inches . Roadies don't even ride on this road during the day !!!

Eish why the hell didnt he just ride on the dirt paths on the side? Most of old JHB road have dirt paths along the side of the road if you really have to ride it.

95% of these riders are fun riders that only recently located their bicycles somewhere in storage and dusted it off for the world fun ride championships in the Western Cape called the ARGUS, most of them don't even know the Hub exist.

Is it not called the AUGUST and if I start training now will I be able to complete it. Are there any hills?

If you see a tjop spelling tjop "chop" tell him to stop being a tjop and spell tjop "tjop" in future. ;)

Chop... tjop ...... potato..... patato

Team Xtreme- Oasis + a few other guys.

What a bunch of fools (to put it mildly). They waited to regroup at the top of Suikerbossie this morning. From there they proceeded to ride as a group of around 15 plus riders into Camps Bay. This caused a huge tailback with some angry motorist tailng them. They rode as if it was the day of the Argus with full road closure. 2,3 and even 4 cyclist abreast using to full width of the road.

No consideration for anyone else. This is the blatant arrogance that I have come across from a few teams already.

Also came across no fewer than 5 tjops without helmets, on fairly expensive machinery. Suppose thay spent all their money on the bike without considering the price of a helmet!

It's teams like this that take the fun out of cycling.

Another hubber started a thread called 'Name and Shame'. Perhaps this should be a permanent post.

One up on the guys that trained on the Slanghoek road outside Rawsonville. I passed quite a few of them in my bakkie and they all were riding on the side of the road to allow traffic to pass.

There were 2 roadies that were really giving it stick and they rode single file and on the side of the road on a place where there is no shoulder such that I could pass easily. Good example of how cyclists should behave.
